Ominous triple black, 1970 Chevelle LS6 SS454/450hp convertible,
meticulously, frame-off, nut and bolt restored with only 404 miles
on the build.
We believe this to be an authentic 1970 LS6 SS convertible with a
color change to triple black. This is a verified Super Sport
with the SS L-code on the cowl tag and is additionally certified by
a correct numbers matching, rebuilt LS6 454/450 engine that is 1969
date code correct for a February car build date and has a great
looking original, older stamping with broach marks and ridges,
correct CRV suffix and a correct upside down stamp that is
consistent for Kansas City built. L-code LS6 SS Chevelles. The Rock
Crusher Muncie M-22 4-speed transmission is also correct for an LS6
as is the 12-bolt posit-traction rear end with heavy duty SS F-41
suspension with boxed control arms and heavy duty sway bar front
and rear. This triple black SS LS6 convertible has had an extensive
restoration with new black mirror finish paint, brand new Black
Strato bucket seat interior, adjustable head rests, with
beautifully restored dash and new instrumentation showing only 404
miles on the odometer,
correct SS gauges and high horse power redline tachometer, AM radio
and SS steering wheel.
New center console, new Muncie shifter, new door panels and carpet,
new black power soft top and a complete mechanical and electrical
restoration. According to the cowl tag the original colors of this
SS Chevelle was Astro Blue with Ivory interior with an L-Code for
SS equipment. The color change may be incorrect and devalue the car
for some people, but we feel a triple black car is not a bad
upgrade.
Under the functional cowl induction hood is a show quality engine
compartment, showcasing a rebuilt number matching LS6 454 power
plant, which is the highest horsepower that was ever offered in an
SS Chevelle with 450 actual horsepower and topped off a correct LS6
Holley 750 double pumper carburetor, correct LS6 low rise aluminum
intake and the cowl induction air cleaner, nicely optioned with
power steering and power disc brakes.
The interior is equally as nice with
new center console with Muncie shifter, a restored dash, This high
caliber American Dream Machine is rolling on correct SS 5 spoke
wheels and new Firestone Wide Oval white letter tires for that
correct investment grade look
