A professional frame-off, rotisserie restoration executed by Samson
Design in Marshall, Missouri, transformed this 1955 Chevrolet Bel
Air into an award-winning custom. The exhaustive three-year effort
earned the iconic Chevrolet a string of accolades in 2018 including
Top 10 Builder's Choice at the Goodguys PPG Nationals, as well as
Street Rodder Top 100, Outstanding Paint and Radical Hardtop at the
Detroit Autorama. Axalta Torch Red paint with Satin Charcoal
accents trim landed the super sano shoebox on the December fold of
the 2018 Axalta Calendar.
Eddie Motorsports hinges elevate the hood and unveil a
custom-fabricated Chevrolet script cover that elegantly conceals a
fuel-injected 6.2L LS3 V-8 crate engine with Tru-Ram manifolds and
dual exhaust. Power gets down to the pavement through a 4-speed
automatic transmission and Ford 9-inch rear with 3.70 Positraction.
The Scott's Hot Rods chassis is equipped with independent front
suspension with tubular A-arms, four-corner coilovers and a 4-link
rear suspension. Power rack-and-pinion steering and a sway bar join
Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes for high-G road handling.
Custom, imported, synthetic, two-tone saddle leather upholstery and
luxury appointments coalesce with a midcentury Chevrolet vibe in
the cabin. Handcrafted door panels, a Glide Engineering bench seat
and period-correct loop weave carpet provide premium comfort, and
the smoothed and color-synchronized painted dash features Dakota
Digital HDX Silver alloy interpretations of the original Jet Age
gauge clusters and clock. Nu-Relics power windows with tinted
smoked glass and a hidden AM/FM Boss Audio stereo with Bluetooth
offer private listening, and a Vintage Air system whirls out air
conditioned climate control. The famous Tri-Five rolls on 18- and
20-inch staggered-width Boyd wheels and Nitto tires for maximum
grip.
