This 1972 Ford F-250 Custom was manufactured in San Jose, California and spent its entire life in the most ideal part of the country to preserve classic cars and trucks. Equipped with a 360 V8, automatic transmission, front disk brakes, and the perfect patina while still having its original Bahama Blue paint. Previously the Ford hauled an airstream coffee shop on occasion and has been well kept through the decades, the truck has spent the last couple years of its life in Florida. With a reading of 90,081 miles, that are believed to be original miles but unable to verify. I have put over 2000 miles on this truck in the last several months, with many road trips including Miami to St. Augustine, never missing a beat and getting lots of thumbs up on the way. Overall, this is rare truck to find in such original condition, with mild California patina, well sorted mechanically, ready to drive anywhere.
Cosmetically, the Ford is excellent shape for its age, with a unique patina that can only be achieved by the California climate over many decades. These Fords nearly always have the edges of the cab and rockers in rough shape, but this is one of the best-preserved bodies I have ever seen with no rotting or bodywork done on the body. The underside of the truck is in solid shape, with just minor surface rust throughout the suspension components. You could swing a hammer on any part underneath this truck, it is rock solid. The only place of note is where the battery rests. Which now uses a plastic tray to avoid any additional oxidation.
Mechanically, the Ford is extremely well sorted with no hesitation in driving it anywhere. Nearly instantly from turning the key the 360 V8 fires right up and runs like a clock. Having plenty of torque to accelerate in traffic and a comfortable cruising speed of 70+ MPH, this makes the Ford a very usable and practical vintage truck.
In the last few months, the following work had been done on the truck:
Period correct style 7.5-16 Tires installed less than 500 miles ago, New OE 2 barrel carburetor, new master brake cylinder, fuel tanks flushed, HEl GM style electronic Ignition distributor, Accel HP Ignition wires & loom holders, Motorcraft spark plugs, air cleaner, new fuel hoses and clamps, fuel pump filter, inline glass filter, exhaust manifold gaskets, new header bolts, crankcase breather, R&R rear axles, replace inner, outer bearings, axle seals, fresh differential gear oil , new rear brake wheel cylinders, return springs, adjust rear brakes, bleed hydraulic system, oil & filter service.
