For Sale: 2001 Lincoln Town Car in St. Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Previously known as a top-of-the-line trim package for the Lincoln Continental, the Town Car became its own standalone model in 1980. The Town Car quickly became Lincolns flagship model and was considered the best-chauffeured vehicle due to its comfortable spacious interior, accommodating truck space, and amazingly quiet ride. Offering the proper balance of elegance and comfort, the Lincoln Town Car became America's ultimate luxury sedan and one of the largest constructed passenger vehicles ever. The Town Car has seen 3 generations produced starting in 1980 and ending in 2011. Only moderate changes have been made over the years and Lincoln has continually improved and utilized the latest technology for safety and convenience.

Lincoln's 3rd generation Town Car debuted for sale in 1998 and saw the end of the straight-lined design that had given the Town Car its boxy look for many years in favor of a more rounded appearance. The suspension and steering were updated, and the Town Car now featured a rack-and-pinion set-up which greatly improved its handling and added to its superior ride quality. The interior was restyled with wood trim on the dashboard and door panels. Also added for the last generation was ultrasonic park assist which included 2 rear sensors and a more fuel efficient 4.6-liter OHV V8.

Offered here is a top-tier 2001 Lincoln Town Car Cartier Edition Sedan finished in Autumn Red Metallic and Light Parchment Leather interior. Powered by the durable 4.6L V8 producing 235 horsepower and 275 lb. ft. of torque through an automatic overdrive transmission and highway friendly 3.08 rear axle ratio. This Town Car features climate-controlled air conditioning, ABS brakes, front & side airbags, power steering, power windows & locks, power 8-way adjustable seats with lumbar support & memory, AM/FM radio with cassette player, traction control, cruise control, tilt steering wheel with radio & climate controls, keyless entry system, power adjustable accelerator pedal, anti-theft system, heated outside mirrors, illuminated visor vanity mirrors, and 16" chrome alloy wheels wrapped in original Michelin Symmetry tires measuring 225/60R16.

The Cartier Edition featured special embroidered leather seats, analog Carier clock in the center dash location, standard heated front seats & true dual exhaust system, black Lincoln badge on the front grill as well as gold Cartier emblems and Town Car badging. Lincoln Town Cars will forever be remembered as one of Americas most iconic luxury sedans with a history of being an executive chauffer car. There has been no direct replacement for the Town Car so it becomes likely these surviving V8 powered, rear-wheel-drive examples will be collector's items in the very near future.

These are cars you must drive to truly experience the ride quality, and you should look no further than this super clean 2001 Cartier Edition that has been wonderfully kept with just 28,660 one-owner miles! It's previous owner just had this Town Car fully serviced in Las Vegas to include all new engine oil and coolant, filters, as well as a transmission fluid flush prior to driving it all the way to St. Louis. It will come with all original books/manuals, one standard key with remote fob, original compact spare & jack tools, and a clean, damage-free CarFax report. It's former adult owner and caretaker has garage-kept this time capsule since purchasing new! It even retains its original, factory-issued tires!
