Intro
This is a 1985 BMW 635 CSI Euro Specification in Zinnoberrot over Natural Lama leather interior. The Euro spec version has more horsepower over the U.S. model, there is no catalytic converter, and it offers subtle European design cues. The previous owner has owned the car since 2009 and completed a full body restoration in 2011. The seller acquired the car in 2023 adding 3k miles with extensive service recently completed. This car comes with maintenance records since 2009. It has a clear title with no reported accidents, always garaged and is in New Jersey.
Exterior
The exterior is Zinnoberrot with a sunroof, front spoiler with integrated fog lights, bright trim, a power antenna, and twin center-exit exhaust tips. It has 17" alloy wheels wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires 225/45 ZR 17. The lock and ignition tumblers were replaced with factory units, it has a SuperSprint high performance cat-back exhaust with new gaskets, hangers and oxygen sensor. The brake calipers were rebuilt by Hayworth Racing Brakes, master cylinder and booster replaced, braided-stainless lines from Turner Motorsport, new power brake and steering hoses, power steering pump resealed with factory kit, and Dexron III P.S. fluid flushed and replaced.
It has a new idler arm, center and outer tie rods, steering u-joint and flex disc, upper (thrust) control arms, bushings replaced with Moosehead Engineering, lower control arms replaced, shocks/strut inserts replaced with Bilstein B8, springs replaced with Ireland Engineering lowering springs (¾” drop), strut and shock mounts replaced, front and rear strut brace installed, wheel speed sensors replaced, rear trailing arm bushings replaced, rear subframe bushings replaced, differential mount, transmission mounts and engine mounts replaced and new front wheel bearings and hubs.
Interior
The interior is Natural Lama leather. The climate control unit and interior temperature sensors were replaced and rebuilt. It has a newer Kenwood XDC head unit with Bluetooth and a microphone. The service interval lights cannot be reset, and the air conditioning is non-operational. It has an onboard computer, power windows and door locks.
Mechanicals
This EURO M635CSI has the higher compression 3.5-liter M30 inline-six factory rated up to 286 horsepower paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The fuel injectors flow was serviced by Marren Fuel Injection, air-flow meter replaced with rebuilt unit and throttle position sensor replaced. All vacuum hoses replaced with new, ICV serviced, throttle body cleaned, AFM replaced with rebuilt unit. The Cooling system has a new expansion tank and cap, heater valve, thermostat housing, DME temperature, thermostat and water pump, drive belts, lower radiator hose, Coolant flushed and bled and valve adjustment.
Imperfections
Minor wind leak on the passenger side door seal
Rear quarter, front wings and upper rocker show rust.
The transmission output shaft and shift selector seals are starting to weep
The service interval lights cannot be reset
The air conditioning is non-operational
