This authentic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28 retains its original color combination, engine, transmission and rear end. It has been certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance on August 22, 2023. The report and Certificate of Authenticity are included. In 1969, only 20,302 Z28 models were produced making this a very collectable model. General Motors didn't keep records but it's believed only a few thousand Z28's were built with the Rally Sport package. As the NCRS Shipping Data Report documents this example was produced on June 27th, 1969 which was at the Norwood, Ohio factory. It's equipped with the following options: (57-57)- Fathom Green with white Z28 stripes, (723)- Green standard buckets, (AO1)- tinted glass, (B93)- door edge guards, (D55)- center console, (D80)- spoiler equipment, (J52)- disc brakes, (M21)- 4-speed transmission, (N34)- wood steering wheel, (N40)-power steering, (U14)- speed warning indicator (was added), (U17)- special instrumentation, (U63)- AM radio, (ZL2)- special ducted hood, (ZK3)- deluxe seat belts, (Z22)- rally sport equipment and (Z28)- special engine and equipment package. The original delivery dealer was Doug McCurdy Chevrolet located Stone Mountain, Georgia. From the information gathered this example was restored in the 1990's. It was purchased in 2017 by its previous caretaker who lived in North Hampton, New Hampshire. As receipts that are included documented he improved the car before selling it in 2024. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in June of 2024 and January of 2025 is the first time it's been listed for sale.

The exterior of this car presents very nicely throughout. It appears like a vehicle that was restored recently. The body panel fitment is very good including the hood. The doors feel very solid when they close and sound tight. During the restoration process the body was repainted in its original color of Fathom Green Metallic with white Z28 stripes. This color really dresses the car well and pops in the direct sunlight. The paint was recently detailed by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS to a brilliant shine. As expected with a 30 year old paint job there are some minor imperfections which are shown in a walk-around video done by Marc Schiliro. The front windshield was replaced new. The original factory Soft-Ray stamped door glass, quarter glass and rear glass is in good condition with only minor signs of wear. The original factory stainless glass trim and door handles are also in good condition with only minor signs of wear. The NOS antenna, driver's side mirror, front grille, front bumper, front spoiler, fender trim, NOS door edge guards, lower rocker trim, NOS rear quarter trim, rear tail light bezels, rear bumper and emblems were replaced. It's been outfitted with the correct style Goodyear Wide Tread GT E70-15 tires that were added by MS CLASSIC CARS. Everything on the exterior is in working order such as the windshield wipers, RS hideaway headlights, parking lights, turn signals, brake lights and reverse lights. The headlight washers aren't operational.

The interior of this car is finished in its original green color which complements the exterior perfectly. The previous caretaker restored the interior in 2018 which included such items as the headliner, side panels, sun visors, dash pad, door sill plates, door panels, door hardware, seat foam, seat covers and carpeting. It sports a reproduction wood steering wheel and simulated wood trim on the dash. Everything in the interior is in working order such as interior lights, gauges, radio, clock and heating system. The previous caretaker added a NOS speed warning indicator under the dash but it's not installed. It was outfitted with the correct style matching green rubber floor mats. The trunk compartment was restored and refinished in gray. It's equipped with a full size spare with BF Goodrich tire.

The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout with many correct parts. It retains the original cowl VIN stamp and the original X33 trim tag. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support were refinished in the correct shade of black. The car is powered by the original matching numbers DZ 302 engine that was factory rated with 290 horsepower. The “010” block with casting date of E189 and V0609DZ assembly date. The engine was rebuilt and runs excellent. It's equipped with an Holley #4053 dated carburetor dated 943, NOS air cleaner element, deep groove pulleys, SB692 water pump dated 1258, Delco #8367 starter motor dated 9D29 and #1111480 distributor dated 9D2. The engine smog system was rebuilt and is in working order. Many of these parts were restored or added by the previous caretaker. The engine is cooled by the original CB coded Harrison radiator dated L of 1968. The engine breathes through a Gardner “Concours Show Quality” chambered dual exhaust system. This exhaust was also added new by the previous caretaker. The engine coupled to the original matching numbers M21 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. The “660” case has a P9H11B assembly date. The power is transferred to the 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 positract ratio. The 860NF housing has a casting date of E289 and BU0620G1 assembly code.

The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout. It retains the original floors which are in very good condition. MS CLASSIC CARS lightly restored the undercarriage during the service process. The fuel system, power steering system, suspension components and braking system has been all gone through. It's equipped with the original 302 frame mounts and 4-leaf rear springs. The brake booster is #9204 and dated 127.
