Starting in 1935 the Model 48 was introduced by Ford and from then
received an annual cosmetic refresh before being completely
redesigned for 1941. The combination of looks and price caused
sales to soar ahead of their rivals with 820,000 sold just in 1935.
This 1936 Ford 2 Door Sedan is an all steel car that was
transformed into a street rod over the course of a two and a half
year build. It was designed and assembled by a team of professional
race car specialists so you know it was done right. The body is all
rust free and the fenders/running boards are all steel as well
which you don't see often even on steel body cars. The paint is a
very clean two tone combination of Tangelo Orange and Platinum
Silver. It has beautiful front/rear chrome bumpers and front grill.
The sides of hood are nicely louvered and fitted with very classy
looking trim pieces. Along the middle of the hood is trim as well
with a V8 emblem on the nose. Another unique feature is the vinyl
insert on the roof which is very nicely done. The glass is in good
condition throughout and it has a working windshield wiper in front
of the driver. The car has a great stance and rides on a set of 15
inch Rocket Salt Flat wheels with knock off style center caps and
BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (215/65/15 - front, 255/70/15 -
rear).
One of the coolest features of this street rod is it was built
using 100% Ford components. You see so many of these cars with a
crate 350 which we understand but when you open the hood and see a
302 Ford V8 in place it really stands out. It is a roller motor
that has been fitted with an aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel
carburetor, cast iron heads, billet distributor, polished AC
compressor, Ford Racing valve covers, BBK stainless headers, MSD
box and MSD coil. The car runs great and sounds great through its
dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Cooling is zero issue thanks
to the aftermarket aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The
motor is paired with a C4 automatic transmission with a new Vega
gear box and shift kit to send power back to the Ford 9 inch open
rear end with a 3.00:1 gear ratio. The car rides down the road well
with chrome shocks, leaf spring front/rear suspension, and a solid
front axle. The undercarriage is nicely painted and the floors are
all solid. It sits on a custom tubular frame. The car stops
smoothly and has been upgraded with power 4 wheel disc brakes.
Other very nice features include a custom drive shaft loop, custom
plastic gas tank, and a custom battery tray underneath.
The interior is complete in a beautiful Dove Gray leather that has
been very well maintained since it was completed. You can tell it
is a car that has been well cared for. It has dual bucket seats up
front and a full bench in the rear. The carpeting is in excellent
condition and through the floor is a tall shifter as well as a kill
switch. The dash is all nicely painted and it is fitted with
aftermarket Smith Ford script gauges. Underneath the dash is a
custom panel with Vintage AC/Heat controls, adjustable chrome
vents, and an aftermarket stereo that sounds great. In front of the
driver sits a Flaming River tilt steering column topped of with a
very nice Grant woodgrain banjo steering wheel. On the door panels
are chrome door handles and chrome power window controls. Being a
humpback sedan it does have a trunk which is nicely finished out
for all your storage needs.
This is a very well put together car that was built to drive and
enjoy. It looks great and was built with all the right stuff.
This awesome street rod could be yours for $49,500.00!
