Vehicle Description
This 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible rolls with a 36-year single-owner
legacy of pure American muscle upgrades. The Reef Turquoise paint
and racing stripes channel raw performance, while 14-inch Hurst
wheels and Coker Redline Radials 225/70R14 tires grab the pavement.
The black cloth convertible top folds down so everyone can hear
those dual exhaust pipes sing.
The dark turquoise vinyl interior brings race-ready attitude with
high-bolster bucket seats and a floor-mounted shifter. Auto gauges
display live V8 data while custom Fisher seatbelts add modern
protection. Dynamat keeps the cabin quiet enough to enjoy the AM
radio. The deluxe two-spoke steering wheel channels pure Detroit
power.
The 389 has been stroked to a 447 cubic inch V8 using a Butler
Performance kit and puts serious American muscle through the TCI
Streetfighter 700R4 transmission into an Eaton 8.2 Posi-traction
rear end with Richmond 3.55 gears. The Butler Performance kit
consists of Eagle 4.25" Stroker Crankshaft, 6.8" Eagle H Beam Rods,
Ross Custom Aluminum Short Skirt Pistons, Kauffman Ported Pontiac
6X8 Heads. The Borgeson 600 steering box provides pin-point control
while power front disc brakes deliver strong stopping force. Those
67 Ram Air manifolds feed straight into aggressive 2.5-inch Dynomax
dual pipes.
