Vehicle Description
Undoubtedly a contender for 'coolest sleeper' on the street, this
fantastic 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury 426 Max Wedge tribute is a
wholly unique Mopar. The Sport Fury was Plymouth's top-line
offering, and for most buyers, the 383ci V8 provided ample thrust,
but a few buyers looking for more knew to check the box for the
all-conquering 426 Max Wedge. This tribute car was built with this
in mind -go fast and look good doing it.
Finished attractively in Copper Poly Metallic, this Plymouth looks
all business, with a set of wide body-colored 15-inch steel wheels
fitted with small "dog dish" hubcaps wrapped with tires staggered
215/70R15 front and 235/70R15 rear for just the right stance. The
custom white interior features comfortable bucket seats, Mopar's
famous push-button transmission gear selector, a 3-spoke
wood-rimmed steering wheel and Fahrenheit stereo. All the original
gauges are in place, plus a pair of white-faced Sun Pro gauges
mounted under the dash to monitor oil pressure and water
temperature. The trunk compartment is fully trimmed as well.
Under the hood is a potent 426 Max Wedge Super Stock engine mated
to a A727 TorqueFlite transmission that sends power back to an 8
inch limited slip differential with 4.10 gears. This classic is
equipped with speed goodies that include a Cross-Ram intake with
two four-barrel carburetors topped with chrome open-element air
cleaners, MSD ignition, seven-quart oil pan, large aluminum
radiator with electric fan and upgraded front disc brakes. Factory
high-flow exhaust manifolds flow back to a rumbling dual exhaust
system with cut-outs and Flowmaster mufflers.
