This 1983 Jeep CJ-7 is a really cool, clean, all steel, rust free
Jeep that spent its life in California and Arizona. The last owner
spent a lot of time and money doing upgrades and maintenance to
this Jeep to make it a reliable desert cruiser. Unfortunately he
did not use it as much as he thought so we bought it from him. This
is a well sorted and fun to drive Jeep! The body on this Jeep is
clean and straight. We found no evidence of rust or rust repair
anywhere. This Jeep was special ordered Sunshine Yellow. The paint
is nice and is a mixture of original with some places being touched
up from sun fading. It has an aftermarket front winch bumper with
anew 12,000 pound winch (it has not been wired). It also has an
aftermarket rear bumper with spare tire carrier. The underside is
super clean and really nice. This Jeep comes with a soft top frame
(needs new top), hard and soft half doors, and 2 bikini tops.
The interior is your basic Jeep interior and is in nice condition.
It has newer Mastercraft front bucket seats and a factory rear
bench seat in excellent condition. The Heep still has the original
carpet that is in good condition which we rarely see. It has a
factory roll bar. The dash and dash bezel are original and still in
nice condition. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn
signals are all working. The gauges all work including the
tachometer. The heat and windshield wipers work. The horn and
factory clock are not working. This Jeep also has tilt wheel.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent!! It runs and drives great!!
The engine is the 258 4.2L Inline 6 that runs great with no issues
or red flags that we found. It has Holley Sniper Fuel Injection
installed which is really nice. Recent maintenance and upgrades
include not only the Holley Fuel INjection but also a HEI
distributor, aluminum val covers and gaskets, oil pan gasket and
new rear main seal. It has the T5 5 Speed Manual Transmission that
shifts nice with a strong clutch. It is mated to the Dana 300
transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is
the AMC 20 with 3.31 gears and the front axle is the Dana 30 with
3.31 gears. It recently had a 2 1/2 Inch BDS all spring lift
installed with new springs, HD shackles, new shocks, and new
bushings. This is all sitting on a set of new aluminum wheels with
32 Inch Mud Terrain tires.
