Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1986 Chevrolet Camaro
IROC-Z for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. This 1986 Camaro
coupe is powered by a fuel-injected 5.0-liter LB9 V8 paired with a
four-speed automatic transmission. For those who came of automotive
age in the 1980s, there was only one Camaro to have: the IROC-Z.
Chevrolet offered the IROC-Z trim model of the Z/28 from 1985 to
1990, its badge nodding to the International Race of Champions
series that sprang from the brain of Roger Penske.
The reclining front bucket seats are upholstered in red cloth, and
interior appointments include air conditioning, Z28-branded floor
mats, automatic windows, automatic locks, center console storage,
and a Delco AM/FM cassette stereo with a digital clock. The
three-spoke steering wheel frames a 145 MPH speedometer, a
tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel
level, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows
75,669 miles.
The Camaro was finished from the factory in White, and the car has
said to have been repainted under previous ownership. It features
IROC-Z graphics on the doors as well as black and silver
wrap-around lower body striping. Additional exterior details
include a three-piece rear spoiler, fog lights, hood louvers, and
rocker extensions with Z28 badging. Five-spoke 16" IROC wheels are
wrapped in 245/50R16 Hankook tires. IROC-Z models were
factory-equipped with a unique MacPherson strut front suspension, a
torque-arm rear suspension with Delco/Bilstein shocks, and
larger-diameter sway bars when compared to contemporary Camaros.
Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear
drums.
The 5.0-liter LB9 V8 features an optional Tuned-Port Injection
system and was factory rated at 190 horsepower with 285 lb.-ft of
torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed
automatic transmission. Oil change, battery, spark plugs, struts,
AC serviced, tires, and alignment were all performed before the
sale. Does have two sets of keys, original owner's manual, GM
maintenance book, and original warranty paperwork that will come
with the vehicle.
