Vehicle Description
When it comes to late-model hot rods, no car embodies old-school
cool like this 1997 Plymouth Prowler with Prowler Trailer. This
one-owner car has a shockingly low 1,675 miles on its odometer and
is one of less than 400 units made available for retail sales in
the Prowler's debut year. The Purple Metallic original paint that
adorns these head-turning original body panels and matching trailer
looks almost as good as the day it rolled off of the assembly line,
regardless of whether its black manual convertible top is up or
down.
Inside, we find a stock black leather interior that features a
five-pod white-faced gauge cluster mid-mounted on the dashboard,
with the loan exception of the 7,000 RPM tach mounted on the
steering column to allow you to keep your eyes on the road and
still click off a perfect 1-2 shift. But don't let the Prowler's
throwback vibe fool you. This car comes complete with all the
modern amenities hot rodders could have only dreamt of back in hot
rodding's heyday. Power brakes, power steering, air conditioning,
cruise control, power windows, locks, and mirrors allow this wild
ride to be easily driven across town or the country.
Under the sleek triangular hood, we find an original 24-valve,
3.5-liter single-overhead cam V-6 engine borrowed from Chrysler's
LH car lineup in the mid-to-late 1990s. Making 215 horsepower at
5,850 RPM and 221 pound-feet of torque at a low 3,100 RPM, the
Prowler used a nifty rear-mounted, four-speed semi-automatic
AutoStick transaxle that uses a variation of a torque tube to allow
the Prowler to achieve perfect 50/50 front/rear weight
distribution.

This 1997 Plymouth Prowler with Prowler Trailer also comes equipped
with ABS and airbags for both driver and passenger, allowing for a
safer ride than anything made in the 1960s. Thanks to its low 2,832
curb weight, Car and Driver proved the Prowler could sprint from 0
to 60 mph in just 7.0 seconds when it was new, which feels plenty
fast with the wind whipping through your hair. If you've always
wanted a hot rod, but also all the convenience of modern
technology, this is the car you've been waiting for. Call
