Known as, “Red Baron” - this outstanding 1989 Ford Mustang GT is a documented two owner vehicle with 987 original miles. It's a 10 time MCA Gold award winner in the unrestored class, MCA Blue Grille Medallion Award Winner and MCA Platinum Award Winner in the unrestored class. It's also a 2 time AACA Original Award Winner. All fourteen of the awards are pictured and included. The third-generation Mustang was manufactured and marketed by Ford from 1979-1993 using the company's Fox platform and colloquially called the Fox body Mustang. During its third generation, the Mustang evolved through several sub-models, trim levels and drivetrain combinations during its production. As the Marti Auto Works Deluxe Marti Report that's included documents this Mustang GT was built at Dearborn on April 14th, 1989. It was ordered with a Cabernet Red exterior, Medium Gray Cloth interior and 5.0L EFI HO V8 engine. It was also ordered with the following features in order of Deluxe Marti Report: license plate bracket, traction-Lok rear axle, P225/60/15 radial black sidewall tires, tilt steering wheel, speed control, air conditioning, rear window defroster, AM/FM/Cassette electronic search stereo, dual electric remote mirrors, heavy duty battery, power windows, illuminated visor vanity mirrors, premium sound system, tinted glass, visibility light group, power lock group and automatic overdrive transmission. This example was retailed by Roen Ford located in River Falls, WI. It was sold to Wayne Miklian who lived in River Falls, WI on April 28th, 1989. This information is documented on the original Motor Vehicle Purchase Contract and original Ford Warranty Identification Card which is included. The original owner Wayne Miklian sold the car to the second owner Timothy Peter on September 8th, 2007 with 780 original miles. The second owner started showing the car in 2009 and is responsible for achieving all the awards indicated above. He treated this car with the best of care and trailered it to most of the shows. The second owner decided to sell the car after 17 years of ownership to MS CLASSIC CARS on September 3rd, 2024. December 28th, 2024 is the first time it's been listed for sale. The exterior of this car is in excellent overall original condition throughout. It retains all of its original factory Cabernet Red paint which looks amazing. MS CLASSIC CARS paint metered every panel and it passed as 100% factory original. Photos of the electronic paint meter readings are included in the photo gallery. There are a few minor chips that are also included in the photo gallery. MS CLASSIC CARS recently detailed the paint to a show quality finish. Everything on the exterior is original including all the Carlite stamped glass, black glass trim, wiper arms, antenna, mirrors and emblems. The original 15” Turbine wheels are also in excellent condition and are wrapped with the original Goodyear Eagle VR60 225-60-15 tires.
The interior of this car is also in excellent overall original condition throughout. It still has the new car fresh smell and shows no signs of wear. The original factory stickers are still on the inside of the doors. The Medium Gray upholstery includes the headliner, sun visors, door panels, articulated sport seats and carpeting. The dash, top of door panels, steering wheel and part of the console is trimmed in black. It's been outfitted with gray carpeted floor mats. Everything in the interior is in working order including the stereo and air conditioning. The rear hatch still retains the original factory stickers. The trunk compartment panels and carpeting is also in excellent overall original condition. The original cargo cover, spare tire and jack tools are included.
The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. It retains all the original factory stickers and assembly paint marks. There are no signs of oxidation or deterioration. This car was never modified with aftermarket parts as commonly found with most Fox body Mustangs. It's powered by the original factory 5.0L EFI HO V8 engine which runs excellent. The engine is cooled by the original factory radiator and breathes through the original factory dual exhaust system with catalytic converters. The engine is coupled to the original factory automatic overdrive transmission and 2.73 Traction-Lok rear axle.
The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. It also retains all the original factory stickers and assembly paint marks. There are no signs of oxidation or deterioration. The floors have the original factory gray primer. It retains the original factory fuel system, steering system, suspension components and braking system.
