For Sale: 1974 Plymouth Valiant Duster

Looking for a classic American muscle car that turns heads? This 1974 Plymouth Valiant Duster is an excellent choice!

Engine and Performance: This Duster is powered by a recently rebuilt 340 engine (2780930-340-8) with a displacement of 340 cubic inches (5.6 liters). It boasts a V8 engine with a bore of 4.04 inches and a stroke of 3.31 inches, painted in vibrant Mopar orange. The engine has only 660 miles on it since the rebuild, which included a new radiator and spark plug wire set. During the rebuild, the engine bay was repainted black to look factory new.

Exterior: The exterior features a clean black finish with 340 striping on both sides. Highlights include a new custom wheel and tire package with front tires sized 235/60R/15 on 15x7 Rally Wheels and rear tires sized 255/60R/15 on 15x8 Rally Wheels. It also includes chrome bumpers and trim, adding to its striking presence. Installed suspension shackles lift the rear end for a more aggressive stance. Protective filming was applied to the rear quarter panels, and a complete color correction was done on the entire car in 2023. The car also features unique Pop-Out Quarter Windows, adding to its classic charm.

Interior: Step inside to a crisp black vinyl interior with faux wood accents on the black dashboard. The interior remains largely stock except for a custom steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and a custom sound/radio system. The custom sound system includes a DEH-80PRS Pioneer CD Receiver, Primo Subwoofer, Hybrid Morel 2-Way Component Speaker system, Phoenix Gold amplifier, Bluetooth speaker, 2 USB ports, and a volume controller for the subwoofer in the trunk, ensuring a premium audio experience. Additionally, Stinger Roadkill Sound Damping has been installed throughout the floorboard and trunk to reduce noise and vibration, providing a quieter and more comfortable ride.

Odometer Reading: The odometer currently reads 9,654 miles. It's likely that the odometer has rolled over once, although not during my ownership. The current engine has 660 miles on it since being rebuilt in November 2021.

Vehicle History: This car was purchased on consignment in July 2016 out of Detroit. It has undergone $20K in restoration work to date. The vehicle history report shows no accident reports or damage checks. The title is clean, with no odometer brands, rollbacks, rollover, or tampering reported. The VIN is VL29C4B280860.

History and Design: The Plymouth Duster was introduced in 1970, borrowing its front design from the Valiant but featuring unique sheet metal and door skins. Its semi-fastback roof and special rear valance with twin horizontal taillights set it apart. It was built to compete with the Ford Maverick and Chevrolet Nova.

Additional Information: This car has been driven less than 1,500 miles since 2016. My primary goal was to restore it and participate in car shows in the Pacific Northwest. It has been kept in my garage during the winter and rainy months, and it has never been used as a daily driver. It uses 92 Premium Unleaded gas and has been serviced each spring.

This Duster is sure to impress and provide endless satisfaction. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of American muscle car history that will leave others at the stoplight envious. Contact me for more information or to arrange a viewing.
