This is a fully restored 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible in its
original beautiful shade of Platinum (Light Blue Paint Code N).
This Thunderbird has been enjoyed by its present owner for the past
33 years. This was part of a personal collection and that
benefitted from a complete and thorough concours winning
restoration and wonderfully maintained and preserved since. This is
a multiple award winning concours Thunderbird that would be equally
perfect for concours display or touring. This is well optioned
including the relatively rare air conditioning. This T-Bird was
built new in the Wixom, MI Ford plant and was sold to its original
owner through the Kansas City distribution area. Spending half of
its life in Texas, it was acquired by its present Arzona owner in
1991. Over the succeeding few years, he accumulated the necessary
NOS parts to initiate the award-winning restoration which lasted
through 1994-1995. Some of the awards and honors include: Vintage
Thunderbird Club International (V.T.C.I.) Concours First Place
Award 1995 Best of Show LCCI Grand Invitational 1995 AACA National
First Junior Award 1996 AACA National Senior Award 1998 AACA
National Preservation Award 2015 Featured vehicle for October in
2017 NAPA Classic Car Calendar Though now an older restoration,
this car still shows beautifully and runs very nicely. The Platinum
Blue paint (Paint Code N) has wonderful shine and luster and is
without any defects. Today the T-Bird would perform well at
regional car shows, concours and touring events. The correct
perfect Dark Blue vinyl convertible top operates as it should. The
radial tires are newer and perform as they should. The interior has
been restored as well in the original Dark Blue vinyl with Dark
Blue accents and medium blue carpeting and is complete with the
optional Passenger Seat Recliner with Headrest. The interior is in
very nearly perfect condition today. The Blue vinyl power
convertible top is also nearly perfect. The interior and exterior
chrome is all nearly perfect and concours ready, which weve rarely
seen on all T-Birds of the era. In addition to standard features
(390CID, 315HP Engine, Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, Auto Parking
Brake Release, Power Brakes (Front Disc), Remote-Control Sideview
Mirror, Power Steering, Swing-Away Steering Column, Sequential Turn
Signals, Front Seat Belts with Warning Light), this 1966 Ford
Thunderbird Convertible has the following options: White Sidewall
Tires Body Side Mouldings Rear Fender Shields Door Edge Guards
Right Sideview Mirror Power Antenna Air Conditioning Power Windows
Rear Deluxe Seatbelts Rear Speaker AM/FM Stereo Radio Passenger
Seat Recliner with Headrest The engine compartment is detailed for
show and is rather stunning. The 390 CID four-barrel carbureted V8
produces 315 hp, which provides for a smooth and effortless driving
experience. These T-Birds are wonderful to drive and are smooth and
powerful. With power steering, power brakes, power seats, windows
and top, this T-Bird is nicely equipped. Fortunately, they are also
mechanically very reliable. This T-Bird runs and drives perfectly
well. This is well optioned including the relatively rare air
conditioning. We love the functionality of the horizontal red bar
for the speedometer and the sequential rear turn signal lighting!
The chassis shows that it was cleaned and painted during the
restoration. It is in excellent condition today for touring and
concours use. This T-Bird also features its original AM/FM stereo.
