For Sale: 1970 Oldsmobile 442 in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This car is a celebrity! Right out of Original Parts Group's private collection. This car was massively campaigned to show off their business and their products. Proudly displayed at several shows including SEMA, featured in and on several catalogs, used in several promotions etc. They hired JH Restorations to perform a complete body off frame restoration. What a stunning end result!

EXTERIOR: Killer looks! A handsome body enhanced by big ram air scoops, glass finish paint and gold stripes. Yes, it's finish is better than when it was new. The black metal panels are laser straight with zero rust or damage. It features an OPG fiberglass ram air hood with chrome twist locks, and it has one year only sport mirrors. The paint is polished like a mirror you can read a phone book in. The W-30 stripes were properly laid out and look great. Of course, all of the emblems, trim, grills, bumpers were replaced. The rear bumper features exhaust notches with trumpet tips. The black convertible power top was also restored. It is sitting on a restored set of rally wheels wrapped in reproduction Wide Oval tires.

INTERIOR: The gold is an amazing compliment to the exterior colors. It is completely restored using OPG parts: cushions, upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet, floor mats, visors, dash bezels, seatbelts, etc. It has some great features too: rally gauges, tic toc tachometer and a Hurst dual gate shifter in the center console. It all looks and functions like new!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Packed full of great features! At the heart of it all is a completely rebuilt 455 with W-30 upgrades including a correct aluminum intake and functional ram air system. If you don't notice the emblems on the exterior the red inner fenders designate what lurks under the hood. Then it also has a factory air conditioning system, power steering and brakes. Every component looks fresh and proper. It's complete down to spring clamp cables, reproduction hoses and correct decals. Detailed like new!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean and complete! Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick. Inside is solid metal with a neatly painted spatter finish. Reproduction decals, weatherstrip, well liner, gray mat and matching tire cover. It also has the optional rubber Olds mat, complete jack and spare assembly.

UNDERSIDE: It was body off frame restored, taken down to bare components. The frame was powder coated; the pristine metal floors were painted semi-gloss black. It has the Rallye suspension which includes rear boxed control arms, front and rear swaybars. All the steering and suspension were replaced. Disc brakes in front, every component was replaced: e-brake assembly, lines, hoses etc. complete factory type dual exhaust system. All new fuel system including the tank. Looking up at the motor it is spotless with correct starter and flywheel cover. Rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic was also completely restored. Rebuilt driveshaft leads back to a 12 bolt rear end with an aluminum W-27 cover. It's detailed like a model car under here!

SERVICE: We adjusted the reverse light switch, charged the a/c and repaired the ground on door jamb switches. We replaced the wiper motor, blower switch, glovebox lock, turnsignal flasher, ashtray springs, speaker, front and rear springs, steering box, splash shields and top motor.

This is a stunning car you just don't see. You know it was a no expense restoration because it was an OPG show car. They loaded it with appeal and features that put it over the top!
