This 1958 Fairlane 500 is a classic Ford from the glory years of
the full-size American sedan. It is long, low, roomy and very rare
in today's market.
Carefully Maintained-
This Fairlane 500 Town Victoria was nicely restored (2004) back to
virtually original condition including an owner's manual. The
current owner has carefully maintained the beautiful 4-door hardtop
for the last 18 years. The resprayed exterior two-tone finish is in
very good condition. Accents include an abundance of very nice
chrome, wide-white radials and correct factory hubcaps.
Roomy Interior-
The interior is also very nice. Seating has been reupholstered in
the original design but using 'velour' cloth and vinyl. An Equus
gauge package has been installed, and the sound system has been
upgraded with an AM/FM/Cassette unit and Pioneer speakers.
Ford Interceptor V8-
The Ford is powered by what is said to be the matching number 352ci
Interceptor V8, the largest engine option available in the '58
Fairlane line-up. The engine was rated at 300hp with 10.2:1
compression and Holley 4V carburation. This early version of the
'FE' design is virtually indestructible, and this one has never
required a rebuild. It is now backed by the C-6 automatic
transmission - a later generation of Ford's 3-speed automatic. The
chassis is equipped with power steering and power brakes w/dual
master and huge 11" drums.
This Ford hardtop is highly sought after and will not be here long.
