For Sale: 2006 Chevrolet Corvette in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2006 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

What are the advantages of a one owner car? According to CarFax.com, it's a number of things including one owner cars are more likely to have service records. Second, subsequent owners might not have the full story. Remember "whisper down the lane"? Bad news might not make it to the second or third owner. The last reason is purely psychological as it's nice to know that fewer people have driven your "new" car, and there's something oddly comforting in knowing you're only number two!

For consignment, a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette with a title verified 42,164 actual miles, a one owner car that's been pampered and garaged in a heated space. This car sports upgraded wheels and an exhaust configuration that results in two large tips replacing the quad formation it was born with, and it looks darn cool!

Exterior
Hi ho, silver! This one is finished in Machine Silver Metallic that is the perfect match to some black elements such as the canvas top, the window frame, the rear valance, and the modest wing. The C6 did away with the hidden headlights and put them behind a protective clear cover, this over a gaping intake sucking air at street level. In profile, it's an especially graceful car with the top down with its curved front fenders matched by the rear body line that ascends to a high tail and flat decklid. The double humped fairing behind the seats is a throwback and a fender vent leans forward like a computer front slash and hints at Corvette's heritage cove design that renders classic Vettes as forever iconic. Argent gray wheels with black inserts on the spokes are 18-inch in front and 19-inch in back and are a nice addition to the car while in back, we note two exhaust tips in the valance, flanked by reverse lights. The canvas top, paint, panel gaps and overall condition is excellent, evidence of a car well cared for, and we could not find any exterior flaws.

Interior
Chevrolet calls it Ebony and we know it as black which starts on the smooth door panels with stylish sectional lines and ergonomic handle. The heavily padded and bolstered bucket seats are black leather in tuck and roll pattern and a tall back, all in great shape. Step over the branded sill and find a meaty leather wrapped steering wheel that is plain by today's standards and lacks thumb controls, a simplicity we like! The coved instrument cluster is clear and concise with white letters and illuminated red needles injecting a bit of excitement into the experience, as if being in a Vette isn't enough! The center screen stands over the climate control and its obedient row of integrated buttons and the AM/FM radio has CD and accompanies navigation. The center console houses the Vette's stubby, stout shifter in a black leather boot, and it's not retreating due to the effects of a freezing cold day, it's short because of the ergonomics it provides when you have your elbow resting on the arm rest. The perfect position. Low pile black carpet is protected by mats, and it's good thing because the driver's side mat took on the usage. Meanwhile, the usable trunk is clean and lined for a finished presentation.

Drivetrain
Nothing unusual under the hood, we have the venerable 6.0 liter LS2 V8 rated at 400 horsepower, fuel injected and motivated by a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels and 3.42 gears with limited slip. Only the best for this American sports car, so power disc brakes are found on all four wheels.

Undercarriage
The underside looks fantastic for a car with 42,000 miles and we're guessing it may have never seen rain. There's a lack of surface rust and no errant fluids anywhere. The dual exhaust sends its pipes to a pair of stainless steel mufflers in back, each emitting a single tip. Corvette's SLA double wishbone suspension with transverse mounted composite leaf springs make up the complex suspension of front and rear.

Drive-Ability
The car roars to life and into first we go, then up the gear ladder as the silver bullet accelerates onto the test loop with typical Corvette delivery. Great handling, incredible power, a comfortable cockpit, and all the conveniences of a modern car. As a pampered performer, all functional items operated as they should and it was back to the mall for this beauty to take its rightful place in our showroom. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

If you don't understand the appeal of Corvettes, you probably stopped reading a long time ago. Or, you just have never experienced one. Chevrolet hit a home run in 1953, and that ball is still traveling through space, dodging drones, UFO's, and European supercars along the way to provide Americans with the sports car experience so satisfying and treasured, that nearly each one we represent at the mall has been pampered like part of the family. If you're ready to adopt, this topless beauty is ready for a new family.
