Vehicle Description
1972 Alfa Romeo Spider Type 115.02 (built February 1972) chassis #
3040181 SPICA injected This is a very nice example of the classic
Alfa Spider with 87,785 original miles. I bought it 2 years ago
from the third owner, an older lady who had it for three years and
put less than 1,000 miles on it during that time. She bought it
from the second owner who was a local restauranteur. The majority
of the car's restoration happened under his ownership prior to
2020. This included: engine rebuild, new clutch kit, painted the
original 'colore 514 ROSSO', new 'Stayfast' canvas top, new Rota
wheels, new Koni red shocks and sport springs, new Bosch fuel pump,
new ball joints, new tie rod ends, new bushings, new drive shaft,
new exhaust, new brake pads and rotors and Continental 185/65/15
tires like new. All gauges and lights work as they should,
including the horn. I just recently installed a new electronic
ignition, spark plugs/wires and replaced the points and condenser
with an optical trigger (Pertronix) in the original Marrelli
distributor. New engine and oil filter, new transmission and
differential fluid (Redline) The 2.0 twin cam legend pulls strong
and the clutch, brakes and suspension all perform excellently. The
transmission is very smooth and predictable with a little care
being required going in to second gear. Other features include
Personal wood rimmed steering wheel, Carello headlight covers,
vinyl boot cover when the top is down, single driver's side mirror,
laminated electrical wiring diagram, storage car cover. The
interior is original black vinyl with matching door panels and
pulls. The dash does have a cover on it, the condition underneath
is unknown. The car is very clean inside and out and will make a
lovely cruiser for Cars and Coffee, tours and weekend getaways.
