Few cars have amassed a following quite like the iconic 5.0. This
fully repainted Race Red 1986 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Supercharged we have for you today exemplifies precisely why this
car is beloved by millions. This Mustang is technically a
four-owner car with just 71,897 (believed) actual miles on its
odometer. However, the first two were a woman and her son. That
tidbit of information makes the historical write-up and $48,000 in
work records that come with this car much easier to follow.
Inside this Pony Car, we find a nice-looking two-tone grey cloth
interior complete with body-color-matching red trim. Sport bucket
seats have been newly upholstered, while a trick Boss Elite
infotainment screen is both Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay compatible.
While the original speedometer comes with this purchase, it
currently sports an upgraded 140 mph unit, which is absolutely
necessary considering this Mustang's power.
Under its aftermarket cowl hood sits a supercharged version of
Ford's venerable 5.0-liter V-8. Equipped with a Kenne Bell
twin-screw 2.1-liter blower installed with a 9psi pulley, this
motor adds aluminum Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, BBK long tube
headers, a 90mm throttle body, Holley Terminator X EFI system, and
a Champion three-row radiator to complete this beastly build.
Running on E85 (but will happily run on 93 octane pump gas), this
engine put down an impressive dyno-proven 416 horsepower to the
rear wheels. That massive power is then routed through an American
Powertrain Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission operated using
a Lightning shifter and then to a 1995 Mustang GT limited-slip rear
end equipped with 3.55 gears for the perfect balance of
off-the-line acceleration and comfortable highway cruising.

conversion, riding on 1996 Mustang Cobra front spindles, a tubular

Mustang emblem centercaps. Staggered 245/45R-17 front and wider
275/40R-17 rear, Mickey Thompson tires complete the aggressive look
of this phenomenal five-oh. If you've never had a chance to find
