1973 Datsun 240 Z Original 2393 CC inline 6 Manual transmission I
am the second owner from new. I've had it about 25 years. I had
tried to keep the car very original. The car was garage its whole
life. The story about the brown vinyl top. When the cars were
driven into the bottom of the ships, they were told to park the
cars close together and to climb out the window. sometimes they
would dent the roof line. The manufacturer told the receiving
dealers if there was any damage to the roof line that they would
pay for the installation of a vinyl top. apparently this happened.
The vinyl roofs were popular in the 70s. This was a rare thing back
in that day. It's all original paint and interior and no rust
anywhere. I do Have The original 1973 carburetors that were so bad.
I put 1972 carbs on from a car that I've owned and what a
difference in the performance of the car in every way. Just
recently, I have removed the head to replace the head gasket while
it was off. We did a valve job and high heat valve seats and just
skimmed the bottom of the head for a fine surface. All fluids have
been changed. I do have a set of Daisy wheels that need restoring
that go with the car. The car is just a great original example of a
1973 Z car. By the Way, everything works except rear window
defroster. So much more to talk about with this survivor car
impossible to find a survivor like this it's a true unicorn. Please
