For sale is a restored 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ73--this is the successor to the FJ40 and with the mid-range wheelbase referred to as a "middy". These were not available in the US, and the vast majority of these world-wide were right hand drive vehicles. This particular example spent most of its life in Portugal and is thus an extremely rare example of a left hand drive. It has a recent paint refresh and detailing. Additionally, this vehicle has been "gone over" mechanically by Overland Cruisers and has a BRAND NEW Cummins diesel R2.8 crate engine professionally installed, which runs perfectly (see link below) and has ~1,000 miles on it. At the time of the engine swap, a new gearbox was placed, rebuilt power steering, brakes were gone over, and a 2" lift was done with new leaf springs and new shocks. There is also a new Sony stereo and seat covers. The "FRP" hardtop is fiberglass and can be removed, and soft tops are available for sale as well, which is what my plan was prior turning my attention to an early Bronco. These middies have continued to be produced for the Australia market and parts are relatively easy to come by. Mechanically this vehicle needs nothing to get out on the road or trail. Odometer states 199,373 kilometers which would be 123,884 miles. I am partial--but honestly if you are looking to get started with a mid wheelbase Land Cruiser and want it to be about as hassle free as possible, this is the one you want. All the big stuff is done. It does need a headliner.
