Vehicle Description
Awesome BMW 2002 Coupe! This California1970 BMW 2002 is said to
have been sold new in California and changed owners in August 1997
also in the West coast of Washington. It was relocated to Maryland
where it has since remained, and it now shows 36k miles on a rolled
odometer. The Bimmer is finished in Colorado over black Skai vinyl
and is powered by a 2.0-liter M10 inline-four paired with a
four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a strut tower
brace, a sunroof, fog lights, 13? steel wheels with polished
covers, reclining front seats, an AM radio, and a heater. This BMW
2002 comes with the owner's manual, service records, spare parts,
and a clean Maryland title. The car is finished in Colorado (002)
and features a sunroof, fog lights, a driver-side mirror, pop-out
rear windows, and chrome trim. The 13? steel wheels are finished in
the exterior color and wear polished covers, and they are mounted
with Sigma Tempest tires. A strut tower brace has been fitted, and
stopping is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black Skai vinyl, and
interior features include reclining front seats, a wooden shift
knob, woven floor mats, an AM radio, and a heater. The three-spoke
steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 120-mph
speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and
fuel level. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and now shows
36k miles. The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was said to have been
rebuilt in 2014 and is factory equipped with a Solex carburetor.
The starter and a fuel pump were reportedly replaced in 2021. The
2002 is perhaps the most famous of BMW's "New Class" line, and it
revitalized the Bavarian automaker's historically underwhelming
international reputation. The world was captivated by the 2002's
attractive blend of power, agility and style in addition to its
reasonable price tag. 2002's were offered in two varieties in the
U.S.: the single carb'ed, 100hp base 2002, and the ber-sporty
2002tii. Both were powered by a 2.0 liter SOHC I4, but the tii
added mechanical fuel injection to wring out 130hp. Other
variations included the cabriolet, targa, a three-door touring
model, a twin-carbureted ti and a rare turbo, all intended for
European consumption only. 1973 yielded a major aesthetic redesign,
with rectangular taillights replacing the handsome round ones, and
elongated bumpers added to meet U.S. safety regulations. The
availability of parts for these cars is nearly limitless. In 2005,
BMW even constructed a "new" 1972 tii almost entirely from its vast
supply of replacement parts. Fog Lights, Dome Lamp, Tinted Glass,
Armrests - Dual Front, Am/Fm Radio, Full-Size Spare Tire, Spare
