The "Shoebox" Ford was named as such due to the very different
shape of vehicle as compared to the previous decade. This new style
would quickly catch on as all other manufacturers started matching
the more boxy body designed with incorporated fenders. This 1950
shoebox Ford is in great condition and all rust free. The body is
solid and features a very classic Casino Cream paint that looks
good. These cars wore a lot of chrome all of which is in place and
in great condition. Up front is that bullet nose and the classic 2
piece lucite and chrome hood ornament. The car has a great look and
has some extra features like the front overhead visor, spotlight
and rear fender skirts. It even has the blue dot taillights and cat
eye headlight covers which are nice old school touches. The glass
is all in good shape with no cracks including the two piece front
windshield. The car rides on chrome reverse rims with center caps
and wide white wall tires which look perfect on a vehicle of this
vintage.
Mechanically the car is in great condition and runs well. It has a
flathead V8 that was rebuilt in the early 2000s and has only been
driven 3,000 miles since. It has been nicely upgraded with
Offenhauser heads, an Offenhauser 3 deuce intake, chrome air
cleaners, chrome alternator, and chrome AC compressor. The car
sounds great through the added Fenton headers into dual glass
packs. It runs nice and cool thanks to the mechanical and
additional electric pusher fan. The transmission is a 3 speed
manual with a column shifter. Underneath the car is all solid with
solid pans and no rust. Other nice upgrades include the electric
fuel pump.
The interior is complete in Brown and in good condition. It has a
split front bench seat with a full seat in the rear. The dash is
nicely painted and has a mostly stock layout with the original
gauges, knobs, switches, etc. It has the factory AM radio but it is
not currently working. Underneath the dash it has an added set of
gauges for oil/temp as well as the AC controls and vents. The trunk
offers plenty of storage space for all your car show gear, is
nicely upholstered and houses the spare with cover.
This is one clean car that cruises around well and gets a lot of
attention at shows. It also comes with a very cool vintage window
mounted air unit that is painted Brown.
It is being offered up at the very reasonable price of
