Vehicle Description
This 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix is powered by a 389ci V8 paired with a
Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission and finished in
Grenadier Red over a Black vinyl interior. Equipment includes a
center console, a aluminum turned dash bezels, eight-lug 14?
wheels, dual side mirrors, original AM/FM radio, upgraded CD player
in glove box, power windows, and most important ice cold Vintage
A/C! The car is said to be a lifelong California car and was
originally a CA black plate vehicle due to its PHS docs showing
Southgate CA build, and Hollywood, CA delivery in 1964. Work under
previous ownership included an engine overhaul, suspension work,
and installation of an fresh carburetor, an electronic ignition
module, a dual exhaust system, and weather stripping. This
first-generation Grand Prix is offered with Pontiac Historical
Services documentation, partial service records, and a clean
California title.
The body on the car is extremely solid with no panel, pan or
quarter work ever done on this solid southern CA example. The
chrome and trim is overall original and in good shape with some
light pitting on a few light bezels. The paint job is a nice above
driver condition job with a few imperfections here and there. The
car has never seen collision damage and the doors, trunk and hood
shut easily and true. We believe this car has rolled over 100k on
the odometer but has been well kept and partially refreshed at some
point.
The front bucket seats and rear bench seat are trimmed in Black
vinyl and are joined by a matching dashboard and door panels.
Details include a center console, a locking glove box, power
windows, and an aftermarket AM/FM cassette stereo. The headliner
was replaced in 2004 with the carpets and custom floor mats!
The black and chrome steering wheel frames a 120-mph horizontal
speedometer while a fuel-level gauge, clock, ammeter, and vacuum
gauge are housed in the center stack. The ash tray area has been
used to hide away 3 gauges to monitor system performance.
Mechanically this car runs like a dream. It is very tight and
always fires right up with no smoke or noises. All systems are
currently operating at optimum levels and the car is ready for a
road trip! The 8-lugs wheels are wrapped in fresh BF Goodrich tires
with a 5th matching in the trunk. Power is sent to the rear wheels
through a Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission that is
said to have been overhauled under prior ownership and which was
fitted with new gaskets in 2010.
There aren't very many of these that come up this well optioned in
such a striking color combo. This car is sure to please and will be
the envy of the car show! Call Jon @ 480-703-2337 with any
