Vehicle Description
1963 VW Beetle, never wrecked, heavily modified, which has had the
top chopped 7', front end extended 8' with an extension kit,
suicide doors, designed and built as a small stake bed pick-up. It
was designed for an electric conversion kit designed specifically
for this year beetle and sold by a company called EV West(.com)
check it out on-line when you can. The kit has everything needed to
complete the swap except the boxes to hold the batteries. The chop
was well done with attention to the compound curves of the roofline
and the use of original VW metal throughout. Thoughtful effort in
re-enforcing the electric motor mounts as well as the front end
extention. Doors close with quality latch hardware and designed for
electric poppers to open. New floor pans were installed and the
heater channels modified to fit. dash is unmolested and still has
the original factory paint with speedo and steering wheel. This is
a dream I will probably never complete as old age has not been so
kind to my body. It is, to me, an astounding piece of craftsmanship
and I am hoping someone may see the potential as I do. This is a
rolling project with front and rear disc brakes, 5 lug GM bolt
patterns and gutted interior. Take a look at the photos, I have
more but have to figure out how to upload from phone to ad. To the
right person, it could be a beautiful ratrod street killer due to
its light weight and instant torque electric motor. I calculated
its 0 to 60 at about 4 seconds, depending on which gear you use,
and with that power, capable of humiliating any but the most
expensive supercars. Imagine the surprise when a challenger gets
eaten by a german bug! condition: good cylinders: other drive: rwd
