Vehicle Description
1964 Ford Galaxie Restomod - $500k Build - 665HP, All-Aluminum
482ci Big Block V8, Roadster Shop Chassis
This stunning 1964 Ford Galaxie is the epitome of modern
performance and classic style, built to an extraordinary level of
precision and craftsmanship by Prestige Motorsports of Concord, NC.
With a complete nut-and-bolt restoration and an eye-watering build
cost of $514,071.14, this restomod represents the finest fusion of
retro aesthetics and cutting-edge engineering.
Power and Performance: At the heart of this Galaxie lies a fearsome
482ci all-aluminum Ford FE side-oiler V8 engine, producing an
impressive 665 horsepower and 573 lb-ft of torque. Dyno-proven and
fine-tuned to perfection, the engine features cutting-edge
technology including electronic fuel injection via a Holley
Terminator X system, dual 1000 CFM throttle bodies, aluminum heads,
and a custom-ground Comp Cam. With a 10.5:1 compression ratio and a
dry-sump oiling system, this powerplant is as durable as it is
ferocious, ensuring maximum performance while keeping reliability
in check. The exhaust system is a work of art, with hand-fabricated
stainless steel headers, a full custom stainless exhaust, and
electronic cutouts for an aggressive exhaust note when desired.
Chassis and Suspension: To handle the immense power and improve
handling, Prestige Motorsports partnered with Roadster Shop to
create a custom Fast Track Stage III chassis. This fully modernized
platform features a square-tube frame, tubular control arms, a
power rack and pinion steering, and adjustable Penske coil-over
shocks at both ends for superior ride quality and cornering
prowess. The rear setup boasts a Strange Engineering 9" rear axle
with 3.89:1 gears, and a custom four-link suspension with track
locator and coil-overs, designed to keep this Galaxie glued to the
road. Baer 14-inch cross-drilled and slotted rotors, paired with
six-piston calipers, provide exceptional stopping power.
Transmission and Drivetrain: Mated to the engine is a Tremec Magnum
six-speed manual transmission, with fifth and sixth gears offering
overdrive for highway cruising. A McLeod hydraulic clutch provides
smooth shifting and an engaging driving experience, while a unique
low-profile Stef's oil pan ensures maximum ground clearance,
maintaining the sleek stance of the vehicle.
Exterior and Design: The exterior of the Galaxie was stripped to
bare metal before undergoing meticulous bodywork to create a
seamless, de-badged appearance. The body is smoothed and features
custom billet aluminum hood and trunk hinges, with precision
fabrication throughout. A show quality chromed grill and custom
fabricated front bumper provide additional cooling passage to keep
the monstrous big block happy. The 19" Budnik Remington wheels
wrapped in massive Michelin Pilot Sport tires (255/40ZR19 front and
345/30ZR19 rear) not only provide stunning looks but also ensure
exceptional grip and handling.
Interior and Comfort: Inside, the custom red leather interior
boasts quad bucket seats with a full-length console, and every
detail is carefully crafted. From the hand-fabricated
leather-wrapped aluminum dash and door panels to the billet
aluminum door pulls, A/C vents, and window cranks, this cabin is
nothing short of a work of art. Modern features like power windows,
air conditioning, and a JBL Bluetooth stereo enhance the driving
experience, while Holley EFI gauges and a GPS-powered speedometer
offer the latest in high-tech functionality.
No Detail Left Unfinished: From the fabricated aluminum panels in
the trunk compartment wrapped in leather, to the
precision-engineered exhaust tucked neatly into the chassis, no
aspect of this build was overlooked. Every inch of this 1964 Ford
Galaxie is designed for peak performance, outstanding aesthetics,
and unparalleled craftsmanship.
This is a true restomod that takes a classic American Galaxie and
elevates it to an entirely new level of performance, design, and
innovation. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind, high-performance
muscle car that blends modern technology with vintage appeal, look
no further than this incredible 1964 Ford Galaxie.
