The Carrera 3.2 is admired as the pinnacle development of the
original 911 that first appeared in 1963. These final G-Series cars
replaced the SC Series cars in 1984. They were the last of the
original Porsche 911 design before the 964 bodies launched in 1990.
The all-alloy, flat-6 engine gave the 911 231hp, which meant a 0-60
time of 5.5 seconds. All Carrera 3.2s feature galvanized bodies,
which ensure that these classics are long lasting. The 911 3.2
Carrera was offered with the "915" type gearbox from 1984-1986 with
cable operated clutch. The last few years of the 911 3.2 Carrera's
model, and the most rare due to its being equipped Porsche's
superb, uprated, bulletproof G50 gearbox with hydraulic clutch
assembly.
Originally sold by Porsche of Princeton, New Jersey, this 911 3.2
Carrera Targa was sold dealer to dealer to Cars of Distinction,
Catskill, New York. It was then by the dealer principal and
unregistered for its first 8,800 miles. In 1988, this 3.2 Carrera
was sold to a first "registered" owner as a gift from her husband.
It then remained in this ownership as a snowbird, summering in the
Catskills, New York, wintering in Naples, Florida for the next 32
years!
Sold to its next and most recent owner, at the time a resident of
Athens, New York, both the owner and 911 relocated to Northport,
Long Island, New York in 2021. As a matter of historical
significance, the most recent owner of this 911 Carrera remembered
seeing this actual 911 (by the way, also remembering its standing
in the showroom beside a Red Ferrari Mondial) when offered by Cars
of Distinction many years earlier and lusted to own it, but the
moon and the stars were not aligned for several reasons. The first,
not being able to afford it at the age of fifteen, and more
importantly, not having a drivers license to be able to drive the
911 legally at the time, even if he had the money. The boy, now a
man kept in contact with the owner and in 2020 was given the
opportunity to purchase the 911 from the family who he kept in
touch with for all those years. A boyhood dream became reality.

Carrera Targa for sale at this time. This 911 has been serviced at
all times by Porsche specialists, it has received yearly servicing
as well as two valve adjustments throughout its lifetime and to
date and has NEVER needed to have its engine removed from the car!
The engine mount bolts have never been unturned, the 911 was never
used in inclement weather conditions, its underside cosmoline is
all original, its paint all original!, there's something from you
paint meter readers. This 3.2 Carrera Targa is one for all others
to be judge from, it is time warp to 1987 cared for regardless of
use or expense has been kept in this condition, and without a doubt
one of the finest we have had the pleasure to own.
This 911 3.2 Carrera Targa comes its original and complete books,
keys, tools, jack, tire kit and spare.
A G-Series 911 is not an easy find in this condition and
provenance, especially with the 3-year only G50 gearbox. A
wonderful addition to any enthusiast Porsche garage or collection
and is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
