The Oldsmobile Cutlass was once the company's top intermediate vehicle, but by 1972 it was the introductory model. Two body styles were available, including a sedan and a coupe. Standard equipment included front and rear armrests, full carpeting, fiberglass hood insulation, special molding package, Deluxe steering wheel, and rear armrest ashtrays. The interior was either cloth or vinyl. Pricing for the coupe began at $2,975 while the Town Sedan sold for $3,065.
The Cutlass Supreme was the company's top intermediate vehicle. Body styles included a 2- and 4-door Holiday Hardtop, and a convertible.
