This 1977 Ford F-250 Ranger Highboy that spent its life in
California and Wyoming. According to last owner he was the 2nd
owner but we have no way to prove that. The 1st Owner of the truck
purchased brand new with a Utility Bed on it and used it for his
work truck. When he retired he took the utility bed and cab off and
replaced both with cab off another truck and a flatbed and
selectively restored the truck. He also put a rebuilt 460 V8 in the
truck. The body on this truck, including rockers and cab corners,
is clean and solid. The truck was repainted the colors of Tangerine
and Cream and the paint still shines and looks nice. It is a great
color combination. All of the original chrome and trim is still in
great condition. The flatbed also has a built in gooseneck. The
underside of this truck is also super clean and even has the
original primer still on the floors. We found no rust issues with
this truck.
The interior is in great condition and the last owner had the seat
recovered, installed new door panels, installed a new rubber floor
mat, and replaced the headliner sio they look like new. The dash
and dash bezel look original and are still really nice. When the
truck was originally re-painted the interior was gutted and painted
as well. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals
are working. The gauges all work. The horn, heat and windshield
wipers work. This is an AC truck and the system appears to be
complete but it is not blowing cold. The compressor does turn and
it is missing a belt.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and the truck runs and drives
great! A Lot was done mechanically to this truck. The engine was
replaced with a 7.5L 460 V8 which was rebuilt and has around 15,000
miles on it. We did not receive receipts unfortunately. They added
an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, Edelbrock Carb, electronic
distributor, new belts and hoses, and new spark plug wires. The
transmission is the C6 Automatic that shifts nice and was also said
to be rebuilt when the restoration was done. It has the Divorced
np205 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. It has a Dana
60 rear axle with 4.10 gears and a Dana 44 front axle with 4.10
gears. It also has a newer set of Mud Terrain tires size 235/85/16
on chrome wheels.
