Street rod. Hot Rod. Pro-street. Call it what you want, just don't
call it stock! This 1940 Chevrolet may look fairly stock on the
outside, but the Centerline wheels and big and little tire package
should give a hint at what lies underneath that 1940 body.
A built 454 rumbles under the hood through full-length tubular
headers! That engine is topped with an Edelbrock intake, Holley
4-barrel carburetor, and Moroso air cleaner. The big aluminum valve
covers look fantastic paired with a chrome brake booster, chrome
master cylinder, and chrome alternator. A big aluminum radiator
keeps it all cool with a mechanical flex fan and a pusher electric
fan for plenty of airflow. Power is put down through an automatic
transmission and sent out back to a narrowed rear end with ladder
bars, export brace, coilover shocks, and Mickey Thompson
29x15.50R15 tires! Those are complimented by 165x80R15s in the
front.
The interior is clean and comfortable with modern bucket seats,
tilt steering wheel, a full complement of gauges, tall
floor-mounted shifter, and power seat. Driving this car is made
easy with power rack and pinion steering, and power front disc
brakes. Tubular controls arms in the front finish off that modern
front end.
The exterior is painted a beautiful bright Orange and retains the
stock trim, door handles, and glass. Looking at the car from behind
gives onlookers a taste of what this car has going on with those
big Mickey Thompsons tucked underneath. The rumble of the big V8
solidifies their first thought that this is no stock 1940 Chevrolet
Deluxe Coupe! This baby is bad!
