For Sale: 1973 Buick Riviera in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This boattail Riv pays homage to the Silver Arrow lll concept car. Refinished in a brilliant silver with custom "sweep spears" Silver Arrow badging and the GS Star Wars air cleaner. It also has a custom two-piece front bumper. 1 owner for 25 years, he was a meticulous caretaker of this car. It came to us with everything working properly, it flew through our inspection with flying colors! He even custom built a matching pedal and display table.

EXTERIOR: What a cool looking design, especially the unique boattail design and check out the rounded 1/4 panels. Then this one was taken 1 step further with one of a kind custom molded sweep spears on each side like Bill Mitchell's concept car. They are not pieces of trim; they are actually molded as part of the body. The body looks pristine, it's arrow straight with no signs of rust or damage. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished smooth and glossy. The chrome and trim is straight and shiny. Up front it has custom two-piece bumpers. It has Silver Arrow emblems around the car. The glass is crystal clear, even the rear window. The 15 inch chrome Buick mags look great and have a good set of tires on them.

INTERIOR: Very sporty, very well kept and loaded with features! I love the unique shifter and console. The upholstery and door panels look great. The dash area is in excellent shape with no cracks, cuts, or damage. It still has its factory AM/FM 8-track radio, the owner's manual is in the glovebox. There is a more modern Riviera steering wheel mounted to the tilt column. Other features include power windows, power seat, power locks and power trunk release. The headliner and carpet are in excellent shape too.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 455 engine runs smooth. It's all painted up real nice and on top is the famous Star Wars air cleaner. All the components are clean and proper. Even the plastic, overflow bottle, shroud and washer bottle are in excellent shape. Features include factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes. The triple horns sound like a train!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a power release. Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick. Inside still has its original boxed liner and optional rubber mat. It is complete with jack and spare.

UNDERSIDE: It is rock solid! The floors are smooth as a chalkboard and painted black. Mechanically it's serviced as needed plus our shop has inspected it. The front end steering and suspension appear to be in great shape. It has a correct dual exhaust including the resonators in the tailpipes. The fuel tank has been replaced. It has disc brakes in front and drum in back, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's clean, the starter looks new. It has it's original Turbo 400 automatic trans. The drive shaft has been replaced and it has a 12 bolt rear end.

SERVICE: Each car is inspected and this one flew through the process with flying colors!

I'm very impressed with the overall condition. Yes, it looks great, but it also performs and functions great. Unmolested, very well cared for. He made this already very stylish and unique car even more stylish and unique. The matching pedal car he created really tells me he was in love with this car, and he was a meticulous person. This car will only give you pleasure!
