This 1971 Ford F100 Custom is a really nice, clean, rust free, and
very original "Bumpside" that spent its life in California. The
previous owner decided he wanted to use this truck as more of a
daily driver a couple of years ago so he went through the
mechanicals of the truck to make everything was up to snuff and
drove it for the last couple of years. He lived in a very rural
area so he wanted to make sure it was as dependable as possible.
The body on this F100 is straight and clean. It was repainted years
ago in its original color of Bahama Blue and the paint still looks
great and gas a nice shine to it. All fo the chrome and trim appear
to be original and are still in nice original condition. The
underside is clean as you would expect from a california truck and
we found no rust issues with this vehicle.
The interior is stock and original and appears to have the original
seat and rubber floor mat as well as the original door panels and
dash bezel. The original dash was cracked so he put a new dash cap
on the truck. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn
signals are all working. The horn, heat, and windshield wipers are
working. The Speedometer is very Intermittent so a Digital Speedo
(which is more accurate) was added. It is a nice, mostly original
interior.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives great.
The engine is believed to be the original 5.9L 360 V8 that starts
easily and runs strong with no issues or red flags that we found.
When he went through the truck he replaced the valve cover gaskets,
rebuilt the Carb, added a new fuel pump, new power steering pump,
all new hoses and belts, a new HD aluminum radiator, and a full
tune-up. The transmission is the np435 4 Speed Manual that shifts
nice with a good clutch. It is mated to the Dana 24 transfer case
and the 4WD works like it should. It has the Ford 9 Inch rear axle
with 3.50 gears. The front axle is the Dana 44 with 3.50 gears.
This is all sitting on a cool set of Aluminum Mag Wheels with newer
31 Inch Goodyear All terrain tires.
