THE INTERIOR BOASTS A WHITE LEATHERETTE ON DOOR PANELS AND SEATS WITH ROLLED AND PLEATED PANELS BY ART BRANDT OF SHOREVIEW, MINNESOTA. THE DRIVE TRAIN DOES NOT DISAPPOINT WITH A ‘68 CHEVY 348ci ENGINE WITH 9.5:1 COMPRESSOR RATIO WITH A 3X2 INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE CARBURETORS ARE TRIPLE ROCHESTERS REBUILT BY SHOW CARS AUTOMOTIVE AND AIR CLEANERS ARE TRIO OF FINNED AIR CLEANERS BY SONY MAC INDUSTRIES. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS A DUAL EXHAUST WITH DUMP TUBES FROM NORTH CUSTOM AUTOMOTIVE THE WHEELS ARE 15 X 7 CHROME REVERSE WHEELS FROM WHEEL VINTIQUES WHILE THE TIRES ARE WRAPPED IN COKER MEDIUM-WALL BIAS PILES.
THIS SHOWPIECE HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT NATIONAL LEVEL TROPHY WINNER. THE AMERICRUISE 10TH ANNIVERSARY, JUNE 28-30, 2002, IN LINCOLN, NEBRASKA WAS A HOST TO OVER 2000 CARS IN ATTENDANCE THAT WAS ULTIMATELY AWARDED TO GARY AND MARY WAKEHOUSE. THE GOODGUYS 11TH ANNIVERARY JULY 5-7TH, 2002 IN DES MOINES IOWA HOSTED OVER 3000 CARS. THE SHOW IS THE GRAND FINALE TO PICK CUSTOM ROD OF THE YEAR. THIS 1958 CHEVEROLET WAS AWARDED TO GARY AND MARY WAKEHOUSE TO RECEIVE THE CLASSIC CHEVY PICK OF ALL THE CHEVEROLETS AT THE SHOW, IN ADDITION TO RECEIVING THE CUSTOM RODDER TOP TEN PICK. THIS CHEVY HAS BEEN FASTIDIOUS MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR AND HAS BEEN STORED WITH CLIMATE CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE SETTINGS AND HAS NEVER TOUCHED SNOW. A RECENT APPRAISAL HAS BEEN DONE BY DAN PEERS OF ANTIQUE AUTO APPRAISALS IN JULY OF 2024.
