This is a real deal 1964 Bill Thomas Cheetah car known to be one of only 11 real existing Cheetah cars surviving today
This car is featured with a wonderful story accompanying it in the Hemmings Motor news magazine, July 2024. It is the real number 58 Hurst special car that was driven at Riverside Raceway by Jerry Titus back in the day. These cars were manufactured by Bill Thomas who planned and performed work with the General Motors racing program, and these cars were known as the Cobra Killer. It features its original Bill Thomas 377 CID small block Chevy that produces an absolutely stunning 528 raw horsepower. This car is an absolute animal of a machine and in all of my days, I have never driven anything quite like this. It is an absolute thrill to drive to say the least, the horsepower to weight ratio is really quite something awesome to experience .
This car went through a thorough restoration that was completed in July 2024, and it has been restored to its original race ready condition. It is extremely rare to find one of these cars on the market today, especially featuring its original Bill Thomas custom fuel injection units, and unique transmission Bell housing casting. You can find many amazing stories and footage on the Cheetah race cars from that era on YouTube. The Cheetah race cars history is well known and documented, and it is a fascinating story to revisit. This is a wonderful piece of historic American race history, and this car is in exceptional condition.
