This beauty was part of a multi car collection we purchased from a local family right here in Texas. They had accumulated an exceptional group of classic cars and trucks, all safely housed in 2 buildings on their property. The registration and inspection stickers were dated 2001, so this group of classics had been kept safely stored for nearly 23 years. Although we believe the original restoration was performed sometime in the mid 90’s, the condition of the steel body and exterior paint of this ’40 Ford is just remarkable.
We brought the truck carefully and methodically back to life, purging old fluids and evaluating the mechanical and electrical system on the truck. We preserved what we could and replaced any compromised or inoperative parts, it wasn’t long before this truck was once again back on the road. As was so common with these older restorations, this truck was fitted with a GM drivetrain, in this case a 327CI V8 with a 4-speed manual transmission and for a much improved braking experience a dual reservoir disc brake set up was also chosen. On the interior, a mild custom upgrade was installed back in the day with bucket seats, tilt steering column, cloth upholstery and custom gauges. Because of the excellent structure, this truck is at an ideal level to enjoy just the way it is or the next owner can perform the modern updates and elevate it to the next level.
