Exterior:
This Coupe appears to be an older restoration, likely completed
over 20 years ago. The single-stage paint still holds up well
overall, though there are some age-related blemishes such as
checking, flaking, and a few small blisters. The car retains all
the distinctive add-ons of a Deluxe Coupe and is in solid, straight
condition from front to back. The metalwork is sturdy and shows
minimal wear. The lights are in excellent condition and fully
functional, while the dual horns work but are not very loud. The
glass is generally in good shape, though the driver's side window
is cracked. All windows roll up and down smoothly, and the
windshield and rear glass function properly. We do note the
driver's side door handle is a touch loose The vent door operates
freely as well. While the tires appear older, they are still in
great shape. The chrome, brightwork, and other hardware all show
well. Overall, this is a fantastic example of the model.
Interior:
The interior retains its original mohair upholstery, showcasing a
high degree of originality. The speedometer and odometer function
as they should. The AM radio is present but unfortunately doesn't
tune in any stations. The steering wheel and dashboard are in
excellent condition, and the light switch moves smoothly and works
properly. Both the choke and throttle adjustments operate without
issue. The original locking ignition switch is functional, and the
floor-mounted starter button works as expected. There are no
unpleasant odors inside. The seats, including both front and rumble
seat, are in great condition. The headliner is taut and
well-preserved. The driver's door card shows some wear, as seen in
the photos, but nothing excessive.
Engine and Undercarriage:
Under the hood, you'll find the iconic 221ci flathead V8, paired
with the 3-speed manual transmission. Mechanically, the car is in
excellent condition. Fresh fuel is visible in the glass bowl, and
we've noted that the car has recently had new plug wires and a
distributor cap. The generator appears to be functioning well, and
the car remains on its original 6-volt electrical system. The
engine fires up easily, idles smoothly, and revs without
hesitation, emitting no excess smoke. We also have the original
plug wire looms, though they are not currently installed. The car
runs at a steady temperature and is a fantastic driver. The
undercarriage is largely original and in very solid condition from
front to back.
On the Road:
Driving this car is an absolute joy and it certainly turns heads
wherever it goes. It tracks straight on the road and brakes with
confidence. The engine delivers smooth, responsive power with no
hesitation under acceleration. There are no unusual road noises
coming from the suspension, and the clutch feels great. Shifting is
smooth and effortless. Overall, this car is a fantastic cruiser
that can be driven with confidence and enjoyment.
