1969 International Scout 800A 4X4 Why This Car Is Special 1969
International Scout 800A, like the great looking one we have here
at Skyway Classics, are getting harder and harder to find in any
condition, let alone the shape this one is. The Scout 800 series
replaced the Scout 80 in late 1965. These models had many
improvements in comfort and design, including bucket seats, better
instrumentation and heating systems, and updated dashboard. From
the 1966 to 1968, the base model 800 was offered with an optional
196 cubic inch four-cylinder which ours has, is 4WD with a manual
transmission, has Goodyear Wrangler Radial raised white letter
tires, factory wheels and hubcaps, great new teal exterior paint,
re-done interior, new black SoftTopper vinyl top, and runs and

Scout is an off-road vehicle produced by International Harvester
from 1961 to 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come,
it was created as a competitor to the Jeep and were produced in
Fort Wayne, Indiana. The engine in these is an optional 196 cubic
inch four-cylinder that has orange paint on its block, head,
intake, and valve covers, chrome air cleaner, factory exhaust
sitting in a factory original looking engine compartment. Interior
The restored interior is black and grey bucket seats, painted
floors, center manual transmission shifter and 4WD lever, factory
steering wheel, matching teal body color door panels, factory dash
and gauges, rear seat, seat belts, roll cage, and a clean and
detailed rear storage area. Exterior The great new teal exterior
paint scheme looks great with the new black SoftTopper vinyl top
too. It has a 4WD with a manual transmission and rides on Goodyear
Wrangler Radial raised white letter tires with Factory wheels and
hubcaps. The black bumpers, trim, and glass are all great and the
Scout has a very good overall presentation. Conclusion The 1969
International Scout 800A we have here at Skyway Classics, looks
great in teal, runs and stops great and is a blast to drive. This
