1991 Camaro 1LE Z28, 5.0 TPI with the manual transmission, VIN 1G1FP23FXML166296
The 1LE's were built for the factory stock racing series and were Chevy's answer to beat the Mustang. The 1LE option code was a factory secret for race teams to be able to order upgraded brakes, cooling, fuel tank baffles, free flowing exhaust, higher redline, lightweight aluminum driveshaft, and upgraded suspension.
This particular example is a single owner car out of New York in a stunning shade of Ultra Blue Metallic over grey custom cloth interior. Everything is as it came from the factory except for three items. The factory exhaust on these cars tended to rot away from the inside from condensation so this one has been replaced with factory GM parts, the sway bar end links with bushings have been replaced, and the tires are not original to the car. The car is in impeccable condition inside and out with the exception of two small blemishes. One small rock chip on the nose that has been touched up and one small, 1/4", scratch on the decklid under the spoiler that has also been touch up.
Included in the sale is the original Owners manual, factory wheel lock key and paperwork, unused welcome cassette and bag, and original window sticker. It also comes with the original plastic door bumpers used during transport and the front plate bracket that was never installed.
The third generation Camaros are increasing in value and the 1LE is the pinnacle of all third gens. This time capsule will only increase in value and now is the time to step into this great investment. While this car was built as a race car, it was only used as a street car and used sparingly over the years. It is stored in a heated and cooled garage and can be viewed directly or a video walkthrough by appointment.
