Vehicle Description
Looking for classic pickup truck lines combined with modern
conveniences? Look no farther than this 1958 Chevrolet Apache
Restomod truck. It has had the same loving owner for the past 12
years.
Made at the former Leeds factory in Kansas City Missouri (VIN code
K), this half-ton (VIN code 3A) stepside truck has been transformed
from stock. An eye-popping paint job covers the exterior,
complemented by factory chrome trim. The paint and trim are in
overall very good shape, the wraparound windshield is clear and
intact, the big chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body while the
engine bay and cargo bed with oak floor are clean and tidy.
This truck rolls on Mickey Thompson racing tires size 275/60R15 in
back, mounted on 15-inch aftermarket alloy wheels. The tires and
wheels are in good condition. This truck rides on a 114-inch
wheelbase and a 5,000-pound GVWR.
Under the big, counterbalanced hood is a 350 CID V-8 engine mated
to a Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission. The
engine breathes via dual exhausts. Driver convenience features
include power brakes, power steering, aftermarket power windows,
power seats, tilt steering column and more. There is an Optima
yellow-top battery and various Edelbrock engine parts and a MSD
distributor.
Inside, the redone cab features a pair of black leather bucket
seats, vibrant carpet, a clean-looking headliner mat, a metal
dashboard with matching inner door liners. There's a Dakota Digital
dashboard plus an Auto Meter 10,000 rpm tachometer with memory. A
three-spoke Grant steering wheel with a wood rim faces the driver's
seat. There's a massive Alpine sound system onboard, with a
subwoofer mounted behind the seats and multiple speakers in the
cab. A floor-mounted shifter completes the interior.
For its 50th anniversary year, there was a significant redesign of
front end, featuring a shorter/full-width grille, four headlights
instead of the previous two, and parking lights in the grille
instead of being in the front of the fender. The hood is similar to
1955/1956 models, but with a flat "valley" in the middle. A new
"Styleside" all-steel bed replaced the Cameo/Suburban versions;
called "Fleetside" by Chevrolet and "Wideside" by GMC, available in
6.5-foot and eight-foot lengths.
Documentation includes receipts, invoices, instructions and
more.
