Vehicle Description
1997 Mazda Miata Nearly 100% stock. The car is originally from Los
Angeles and never driven in snow. Not even once. The underside of
this car looks nearly brand new besides some light surface rust on
the exhaust. This car has been my baby since I bought it in 2016,
as evidenced by the work I've done to it described below. ## The
good, and some maintenance history- Comes with service records from
previous owners. - Cruise control, air conditioning, and power
steering all work perfectly. - Oil was changed every spring
immediately after coming out of storage with full synthetic 10W-30
and an extended performance oil filter. Engine never saw more than
7000 miles in a summer under my ownership, most saw less than 5000.
Top of the engine has been clean as a whistle every time I've
pulled the valve cover off and oil is always clean during the oil
changes. - Nearly 100% rust-free. It's seriously the easiest car
I've ever worked on because every bolt comes loose without needing
to be sprayed with PB Blaster or WD-40. - Aftermarket keyless entry
works great! Installed myself in 2017. - Seats were re-upholstered
(with upholstery from a different NA Miata) in winter 2018 and have
been essentially rip free ever since. - Sound deadening material
all around interior to reduce echos and road noise installed in
2021. - Heater core upgraded to NB Miata heater core in 2021, which
is easier to replace and made out of aluminum instead of copper -
Dashboard replaced in spring 2021 and installed with insulating
material to prevent rattles. Original dashboard was cracked and the
rattling drove me nuts. VIN tag was transferred over to the new
dash and looks factory. - Newer Alpine stereo installed in 2021
with Bluetooth, aux, and USB inputs. Speakers in doors and seat
headrests were all upgraded over lifetime of vehicle ownership and
everything works perfectly. If you install a small under-seat
subwoofer behind the driver seat, this car would jam even with the
top down at highway speeds.
