For Sale: 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Rotisserie restored and fast! This Max Wedge convertible is a clone of a car that is impossible to find, because they only produced a handful of them from the factory. This one has a professionally built 512 stroker engine that produced a stout 656 horsepower on the Dynometer. It received a very high quality and detailed rotisserie restoration and was wonderfully preserved since then. This one is so precise; nobody will be able to tell the difference between it and an original!

EXTERIOR: I'm in love with the color combination! Said to be stripped down to bare metal; the Ermine White paint was applied with great attention to detail followed by a good polish to a smooth and slick finish. All the panels have been painstakingly aligned with awesome gaps that are very consistent. The doors close easily with minimal effort. The front hood scoop just looks flat out tough. The power white vinyl convertible top is in great shape and works well. The windshield was replaced and most of the side glass looks original, the rubber seals and fuzzy strips were replaced. The front grill looks to be original as well as the bumper, they are both in great condition. The taillights are beautiful and unique, and I absolutely love the fat 3" dual exhaust pipes coming out the back. Its sitting on a nice set of Cragar SS 15" wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR: This two-tone red and white interior really pops against the Ermine white exterior. I love the recovered low back bucket seats and original looking center console that has built-in storage, astray and cigarette lighter. The rear seat was also recovered with matching upholstery. The dashpad is not cracked and the visors have been recovered. The gauge cluster is both beautiful and nostalgic and very attractive to look at with a unique vintage font. The oblong steering wheel and push button transmission are some of my favorite features ever on a car. The door panels have also been refinished with matching upholstery and look great. All the chrome has a bright and shiny finish. The builder added a vintage Moroso tachometer to the column and a triple gauge cluster under the dash to monitor the vitals.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Professionally built! A 440 was bored .040", stroked and Dyno tested at 656 hp and 662 lbs of torque! The now 512 cubic inch Max Wedge engine looks stock and is equipped with a Mopar cross-ram intake, Max wedge exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock 800 cfm carbs, forged crankshaft, forged connecting rods, flat top pistons, solid roller camshaft (.650" exhaust lift and 303 duration), Indy cylinder heads, full roller timing chain and much more. Everything is fresh and clean with neatly applied Hemi Orange paint. All the hoses, wires and belts look like new. The battery is properly secured; master cylinder upgraded to a dual reservoir. The radiator looks fresh, and the horns are hooked up too. The underside of the hood is cut out just like the factory did to accommodate the dual quads. The fender wells and firewall have all been painted slick just like the body.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb have been painted body color. A reproduction sticker was added. The weatherstrip was replaced. Inside the trunk has all been nicely painted and boxed. It's equipped with a full size spare, rubber trunk mat, and jack assembly. Under the mat is all clean rust free metal that has been painted white.

UNDERSIDE: Spotless and gorgeous! All the components have been replaced or rebuilt. The steering and suspension all look fresh. It was upgraded with Gas-A-Just shocks all the way around. It has a front disc brake conversion, and the emergency brake is hooked up and it has new hardware too. The fuel tank was also replaced, and it now has an electronic external pump. Looking up at the engine is neatly painted Hemi Orange and has a huge extra capacity oil pan. The rebuilt 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission has a high stall converter and a manual valve body. It has a limited slip 8 3/4" rear end with 3.55 gears. The floorboards and frame rails are all pristine rust free metal that were painted the same color as the body.

SERVICE: Our shop manager thoroughly inspected this car and we adjusted the idle speed, lubricated the tachometer cable, rebuilt the blower switch, ran new blower wiring, replaced the horn relay, and repaired the brake lights.

Here it is folks, one of the rarest of rare Mopars ever! You can have all the aesthetics of the original, with highly improved performance for a small fraction of the price, and nobody will ever know the difference. Your secret is safe with me! This restoration would cost far more than we are asking, it is a great value.
