Although the movie Gone In 60 Seconds was about Nicolas Cage's
character being in love with a 1967 Shelby GT500, it's hard not to
see a little of that movie star persona in this 1965 Ford Mustang
2+2 Fastback Restomod. Fully repainted in a gorgeous Candy Apple
Red, this Mustang stands out with its fiberglass cowl induction
hood, GT350-style grille, GT350R-style front valance, GT-style
17-inch wheels, and GT350-style side scoops.
Inside, the upgrades continue with a set of Classics Instruments
Autocross gauges, kick panel speakers, a center console, and even
air conditioning. The black vinyl interior is offset by a
wood-grain steering wheel featuring a Cobra emblem centerpiece,
letting everyone know this is more than your ordinary Pony Car.
Under the hood and beneath the added strut tower brace, we find a
late 1960s 302 cubic-inch Windsor V-8. With its two-bolt mains,
this five-liter small block uses an Edelbrock intake, MSD ignition,
Sniper electronic fuel injection, and an aluminum radiator. A set
of long tube headers leads to a true dual exhaust setup, allowing
power to aptly flow through a sweet-sounding FlowMaster exhaust to
give this Mustang an authentic muscle car voice.

Fastback Restomod is ready when the road begins to twist and turn.
A set of Viking coilovers up front and subframe connectors allow
this Pony Car to gallop around those mountain roads with ease. The
Quick Performance nine-inch rear outfitted with 3.25:1 gears is the
perfect match for the Toploader four-speed manual transmission and
provides the ideal engagement to experience this remarkable
restomod truly. If you've always wanted a classic Mustang, or are
