Vehicle Description
As one of the longest continuous-running names in American
automotive history, the Ford Mustang has seen many iterations over
its sixty-year history. In its seventh generation for 2024, one of
the most memorable changes came midway through its fourth
generation. The SN95 generation saw the end of the boxy third-gen
cars and ushered in a new, more streamlined appearance. As this
1999 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 35th Anniversary model shows, it
got an even more distinctive look just before the turn of the
century. With its original black cloth top and Laser Red Metallic
color, this New Edge designed Pony Car has just 85,153 miles on the
clock and is ready for more.
Inside, we find a well-kept stock black leather interior showing
plenty of Pony emblems, power windows, power door locks, power
mirrors, and power seats to allow plenty of adjustments within
arm's reach. Unlatch the power convertible top, pump up the AM/FM
stereo with a CD or cassette, and blast off into a feeling of
freedom that a drop-top Mustang can provide.
Under the hood, we find a 4.6-liter SOHC modular V-8 that, when
new, produced a healthy 260 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. That
American muscle is routed through a four-speed automatic
transmission before being sent out to the stock 8.8-inch rear end
and onto the rear wheels where factory five-spoke 17-inch rims sit
shod in 245/45ZR-17 Primewell rubber.
This 1999 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 35th Anniversary edition also
sports power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, ABS, and
driver and passenger side airbags, proving how far this muscle car
has come in three and a half decades.
