The Daimler SP250 was a family of sports cars that were introduced for the 1960 model year. This family of sports cars were the last to be developed by Daimler before the company was acquired by Jaguar. Known as the Daimler Dart during its pre-production, the SP250 was offered as a two seat roadster, and was powered by a 2.5L V8 engine that generated 140hp. This power was sent to the rear wheels via manual or automatic transmission options. As the SP250 was developed by Daimler, this original spec became known as the A-Spec. After Daimler's acquisition by Jaguar, a B-Spec was released that featured a strengthened chassis, and in 1963, small improvements lead to the C-Spec. Production of the Daimler SP250 lasted until 1964. with a total of 2,654 examples built.
