1 owner the last 32 years! #s match on the motor, trans and rear.
Amazing factory colors! Arguably the most desirable and valuable
combination on a mid-year Vette. And how about that 425 hp motor!
The power is awesome and the sound it makes through the side
exhaust while your shifting gears will put you in a euphoria!
EXTERIOR: Very desirable tuxedo black car, code 900 on the tag. 40
year old paint job and it looks great, that says a lot about its
integrity. The body is excellent with our damage or bodywork
showing. The panels fit right especially the headlight doors which
work properly. The bulged hood indicates there's a 427 underneath
it. The paint is glossy with just minor nicks and touchups. Overall
shiny chrome and trim. It has a new black convertible top. The
reproduction knock off wheels are always a great look compared to
the hubcaps. The side exhaust is more than just a great look, it
sounds awesome!
INTERIOR: The Red pops, what a combination. According to the tag it
was born this way. Just installed new carpet front to back and seat
upholstery. Door panels look new. New main wiring harness. New
floor mats too. The gauges are functional, it has correct 6,500
redline tachometer for the 425 hp. It has been fitted with a stereo
in the factory location with speakers set in the back. New glovebox
door, correct shifter, working interior lights. New reproduction
seatbelts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s matching 427-425 hp, a real brute! The owner
had it completely rebuilt at a Corvette shop several years ago, not
many miles since. It runs strong, this is a legendary motor. Known
as an L72 it features 4 bolt mains, larger oil port, hotter solid
lifter cam, 11:1 compression, rectangular port heads and aluminum
intake, larger port exhaust manifolds, bigger carb and more. It's
dressed up properly with orange valve covers, open element air
cleaner and ignition shielding. It is using a hidden MSD ignition
box. Overall clean and proper.
UNDERSIDE: It appears to be in very good shape, maintained as
needed. It has independent suspension front and rear, the rear leaf
spring was upgraded with a fiberglass spring. Some steering
components look fresh. It has disc brakes at all four wheels, the
e-brake cables were replaced. The fuel tank looks new. Looking up
at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange, the fuel pump looks new. The
Muncie 4-speed trans has matching VIN numbers. The rear end is a
4.11 which will propel you like a rocket. It has correct date and
code. The frame and floors look clean, has spare tire carrier.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and only found a few minor issues
which we took care of. We replaced the reverse light switch, right
front turn signal bulb and adjusted door handle rod.
This is a highly desirable Corvette. The colors and motor really
make it special. The numbers and trim tag have been looked at by
experts and verbal confirmation had been given that it looks legit.
Remember he has owned the car since 1990 and this is how he bought
it back then too. Not only is it an investment but just imagine the
thrill of driving it!
