7,423 actual miles, all original and holy cow is it nice! It's as
close to new as I've ever seen. Only 1 owner from Alabama, we got
it with the original title. It is a loaded up shortbed with torquey
6.2 diesel.
EXTERIOR: It's show quality and it hasn't been restored! What you
see is all original except the tires were replaced. The body has no
rust or damage, desirable shortbed. The original black paint is
practically flawless. It's decked out very well with factory
options: decal stripe, chrome bumpers, and aluminum wheels. It also
has a cargo light and sliding rear window. Everything still looks
new, it's incredible. The glass is crystal clear; all of the chrome
and moldings are straight and sparkles, even the brushed panel on
the tailgate does not have a scratch. The weatherstrips are soft,
the rub strips on the bumpers don't have a scuff. The optional
wheels are mint, the tires were replaced because of age, these
Michelins still have nubs on the tread.
INTERIOR: It's a time capsule in here too, practically brand new
still. The red looks great against the black. Being a Silverado, it
has top of the line features. The cloth seat doesn't have a snag,
the door panels, carpet, and headliner are mint. The dash area is
pristine including the chrome vents, knobs, gauges, and heater
control panel. The steering wheel has no wear, ashtray wasn't used,
the option sticker is still on the glovebox door. It is optioned
with the factory cassette stereo, tilt wheel, cruise control power
windows and locks.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I can't believe the motor compartment, it
hasn't aged either! Every component is still intact and look
untouched: the jack, stickers, heat riser, hood insulation etc. It
is not corroded; the finishes are fresh looking still. At the heart
of it is a 6.2L Detroit Diesel which has a higher fuel economy than
the V-6. It runs smooth and quiet; at highway speeds it turns very
low RPMs. Other features include air conditioning, dual batteries,
power steering and brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed has a dealer installed bed liner
in like new shape and good looking bed rails on top.
UNDERSIDE: That's right, under the truck still looks new! The
underbody and bed is pristine metal with a smooth semi-gloss
finish. The suspension and steering is clean. The rear shocks were
replaced with gas shocks. It has dual exhaust, front disc brakes
and optional dual fuel tanks. The spare tire has never been out.
Looking up at the motor it is spotless, not even oily. The 700R4
overdrive automatic also look amazingly fresh.
SERVICE: We did our inspection and serviced the air conditioning
and replaced the alternator. It functions like new
CONCLUSION: This truck is a freak of nature! It must have been
stored in someone's living room and only driven on perfect sunny
days. I've been doing this a long time and have owned many low mile
survivors, this one is one of the cleanest, probably "The"
cleanest. and even though a vehicle can have low miles, if it is 40
or 50 years old it still picks up dents, scratches, corrosion. Not
this one. This is a great truck ready for someone to carefully use
and enjoy!
