For Sale: 1970 Dodge Charger in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Wow, incredible rotisserie restoration! Really, this is about the best you will find anywhere. Rare and desirable real R/T with a pistol grip shifter and a Gator Grain top! With the lime green stripe this is supposed to be a 1 of 1. It absolutely has its original fender tag, matching #s on the motor and trans. We have pre restoration photos. Only 328 miles on the restoration.

EXTERIOR: It's better than new on the exterior! Ok, I have to skip right to the Gator Grain top. How cool is that! This car was born with it, a very rare option. It has a high-quality top from Legendary Interior with correct antiqued brown and a tint of green. The body is laser straight with zero rust or damage. The panels fit square and flush. The depressions in the hood have turn signal indicators and the doors have the scoops with R/T call outs. Repainted its original Dark Green Metallic and it looks so deep you could dive into it! The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear is polished like glass. Very rare factory Lime green stripe. Upfront is a show chrome bumper surrounding a grill that looks like new and working hideaway lights. In back is a great looking bumper and taillights. The trim, weatherstrip and glass is all excellent. It even has new reproduction glass complete with the Mopar markings. Sitting proud on pristine 15 inch Rallye wheels with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Completely restored to factory new. They used a premium Legendary Interior package. The seats have new cushions and excellent fitting upholstery. It has bucket seats with the unique Buddy armrest cushion. New door panels and armrests. New carpet and headliner. In front of me is a fully restored dash with Rallye gauges. There is a retro stereo in the factory hole. It has some nice-looking embroidered mats thrown in too. Everything from The knobs and mirror to the seatbelts and glovebox liner looks new. The best part of all is the Pistol Grip shifter sticking out of the floor!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Absolutely immaculate! Original born with Magnum 440-375 hp and 482 lbs of torque. The codes, dates and VIN matches this car. It was completely rebuilt and runs strong. Completely stock: manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner, carb etc. It even has dated spark plug wires. Original radiator with reproduction hoses and clamps, correct shroud and fan. It features power steering and power brakes. Every component is restored and proper: wiper motor, alternator, horns, distributor etc. The squirters are hooked up, Mopar battery is secured, and hood insulation is in place. The original (not a reproduction) fender tag is in place.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Even inside the trunk is immaculate. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted slick, so is the entire inside of the trunk compartment. It has a restored rim and jack assembly with a matching BFG tire for a spare. It also has a new reproduction mat, trunk latch, weatherstrip and decal.

UNDERSIDE: The bare shell was flipped on a rotisserie and the bottom looks as nice as the top. The floors, frame rails and rockers are smooth clean metal painted body color and clear coated. All the steering and suspension has been completely rebuilt. The brake system is entirely new, it has disc in front, e-brake is hooked up. The dual exhaust has a crossover pipe and stainless mufflers with the chrome tips coming out the back. All new fuel system including the tank. Looking up at the motor it is immaculate. From underneath you can see the correct casting codes and date, the original VIN number is stamped right above the oil pan. The A833 4-speed trans is also the original VIN number match to this car. It was rebuilt including the linkage. The rebuilt drive shaft goes back to a Heavy Duty Dana 60 rear end with 3.54 Sure Grip gears.

SERVICE: This went in our shop for inspection and even the lead mechanic said it is an amazing car! They balanced the drive shaft, centered the steering wheel, replaced a sway bar bushing, installed the battery mounting bracket, adjusted the brake light switch, readjusted the passenger window, and replaced the exhaust collector gaskets.

This R/T is killer! I'm going to be straight with you, there are so many "fully restored" cars out there, then there's the best of the best, this is one of those cars. There is a difference. The more educated you are and the more cars you've been around, the more you will appreciate this one. Not to mention it is a real deal Gator Grain top. A pistol grip shifter, power steering and brakes are awesome too. This is an investment grade car worthy of the best collection!
