For Sale: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

#s matching motor and transmission. I found this Road Runner at a show, and it talked to me. It is just such a good looking car that sits proud, fits right and functions like it should. Claimed to have original 34,785 miles.

EXTERIOR: Everything about this exterior is spot on! The body is absolutely straight and fits right. Believed to be original rust free metal. The doors shut like new. Repainted Hemi Orange without a vinyl top, very sharp. The paint is polished like a mirror and the hood stripes are satin finish. The chrome and trim are shiny and straight. The windshield is crystal clear. The stance is just right and so are the wheels. They are new 15 inch chrome Magnum wheels wearing BFG tires.

INTERIOR: It has a very tidy, fresh feeling inside. Looking at the dash everything fits right, everything is clean. It has a factory tachometer and the radio looks original but actually has modern internals. The dash pad has been replaced, it has a new glovebox liner and down on the floor is real nice carpet. The upholstery on the seats and headrests have been replaced. It has a complete set of original seat belts. The door panels look new, and the metal trim is painted a gloss black. The rear shelf is clean and straight, the headliner has been replaced.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a great looking engine apartment and at the heart of it is the VIN number matching 383-335hp motor. It has stock manifolds, air cleaner and even dated spark plug wires. It features power steering which was rebuilt. The carb was rebuilt, and the distributor is new. The pulleys, chrome alternator, wiper motor, all look fresh. The squirters are hooked up, the Road Runner horn works, the battery is properly secured. The entire engine bay is painted beautifully like the car and has a new hood insulation. It has the original fender tag attached and the hidden VIN number on the core support matches the car.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy. Inside is rock solid metal painted orange. It has a reproduction mat and weatherstrip. The spare is a painted rim with a new BFG tire. It also has a complete jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: It appears to be rock solid with its original metal and factory undercoat. I'm looking at clean frame rails and floors that have not been patched. The steering, suspension and brakes have been serviced as needed and are all in good working order. The shocks were replaced. It was inspected by our shop; we replaced the idler arm. It has a recent dual exhaust system with the correct chrome tips. The fuel tank has also been replaced. Looking up at the motor it looks very fresh, starter is new. You can see the casting codes and dates which are correct and then the actual VIN number is stamped by the oil pan. The 727 Torqueflite was rebuilt and has the matching VIN number stamped on it. The driveshaft was rebuilt, and the rear end was serviced.

SERVICE: Our shop inspected the car, and we replaced the blower resistor, wiper motor and idler arm. We had the tachometer rebuilt.

This is not our most expensive car, but I admit I really do like it. It's just right, it's what a Road Runner is supposed to be!
