This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is best described as a contemporary
classic. Its timeless body design is still regarded as a graceful
and elegant shape, its 4.5-liter 190HP V-8 engine still delivers
performance on par with contemporary standards and its 4-wheel
independent suspension still delivers excellent cornering
capability while maintaining a supple ride quality. This particular
Mercedes-Benz is of 1979 vintage and is the last year the 450SL
came with the large-displacement 4.5-liter, single overhead cam,
V-8 engine, and the 3-speed automatic transmission. Appears to
still have its original paint and it looks amazing. Presented in
Atlantic Gray Metallic (code 044) exterior. The car shows no
indication of ever having any paintwork. Beautiful and original
matching darker blue leather interior. This fully optioned 450SL
comes complete with its original steel hardtop (looks like new) and
cloth soft-top. Always Garaged, and maintained at the highest
level. Service history included spanning many many years. The AC
works beautifully and blows cold and has been converted to R134.
The Blue Leather Interior is in nearly like new condition, seats
are impeccable as is the wood trim (NO CRACKS). Everything works,
very nice handling, a wonderful car to drive. The body is in
near-perfect condition, as you'd expect for a beauty of this
caliber. The paint is gorgeous, the blue cloth soft top is clean
and shows little wear from being down, and the plastic window is
clear too. The hard top is excellent and almost new-looking 9hartop
stand in pictures not included). Maintained fastidiously by its two
previous owners, the last having been its custodian for more than
25 years. It's ready to be enjoyed and driven anywhere. SMILES are
not included but are unavoidable.
